"The beveled edge is my favorite for both marble and granite," he explained when asked his thoughts about trim, edging, and design. "You see, it adds a touch of elegance without being too elaborate. It's a subtle detail that can make all the difference."

However, interior designer Raf Michalowski noted during the House Digest exclusive that quartz can work just as well as these materials, and comes with a much more ideal price tag. He suggested looking for quartz countertops that "mimic the look of marble or granite, as they offer a similar timeless appeal in terms of aesthetics."
Quartz starts at about $50 per square foot, but it can go up to $200 per square foot so it's best to shop around for the best deals if you're trying to maintain a certain price point. Michalowski warns against being tempted by cheaper materials like laminate. "It may be tempting due to its low cost, but in the long run, it won't provide the same timeless quality and durability that marble or granite offer," he explains when asked what options to steer clear of when it comes to countertops. While it may be an investment, your counters are a huge part of your home's interior, and a timeless design will continue to make it feel inviting and stylish.
