If you're tired of your bathroom looking like a cluttered mess, we have the right DIY for you. You don't need to splurge on fancy organizers to get the mess under control and declutter your bathroom counter, cabinets, or shelves. With a few simple supplies from Dollar Tree, you can create a pretty and functional storage solution that keeps everything tidy. The secret is to attach wire baskets to a wooden plank for an easy, budget-friendly organizer that's both practical and stylish.

The idea for this hack is to attach two Dollar Tree Essentials Wire Rectangular Baskets, one above the other, to a wooden plank. To do this, you can either upcycle a flat piece of wood that you already have at home or grab a Crafters Square MDF Wood Plank Board or a Crafters Square Wood Pallet from Dollar Tree. The wood looks great as is, but you can also add a bit of color and customization by painting it over before attaching the wire baskets.

All you need to do this hack, in addition to wood and baskets, are two small hook screws. These will go into the wood and hold onto the wire baskets, securing the entire organizer in place. For example, use these Yuntop Multi-Function Wall Hooks. You'll also need a way to secure the wood plank DIY organizer onto the wall of your bathroom. For this, you can use a small Apex Framing Supplies D-ring Picture Hanger or some Command XL Heavyweight Picture Hanging Strips.

How to build a DIY bathroom organizer

If you're planning to paint the wood plank, start with that step and let it dry completely. You can use oil-based paint, stain, varnish, or even make wood look like metal with some spray paint. Once your wood is ready, lay the plank or pallet flat and plan where to place the baskets. If the plank is large enough, you can stack both baskets on top of each other, with a bit of room in between so that there's enough space to take things out of the bottom one easily. If it's smaller, you can also make this hack work with just one basket. Use a pen to mark where the hook screws should go, using one at each end of the baskets, where the top wire will be.

With soft types of craft wood, you can screw the hook screws in by hand. If not, make a small pilot hole with a drill first. Before you attach the baskets, flip the plank over and add your picture-hanging hook to the back of it. If you're using Command strips, stick one on each top corner to secure the organizer onto the wall.

Now, simply hang the wood plank on the wall, attach the baskets to the hook screws, and that's it. It's the perfect spot to store skincare products, extra rolls of toilet paper, or rolled-up hand towels. The best part is that you can reuse this clever hack to organize clutter in other rooms as well. For example, use it to keep your desk organized and clutter-free.
