The Unreliable Dishwasher Brand You Should Steer Clear Of, According To Reviews
When it comes to choosing the right dishwasher for your kitchen, there are a couple brands that have reviews that seem to be pretty consistently disappointing to customers. At the bottom of the bottom, however, is Electrolux. This brand has been railed by on-site reviews and discussion platforms more than once as a company to be wary of if you are hoping to get a quality product, and it has compiled a decent collection of negative reviews that may be enough to warrant passing up the brand altogether.
One of the biggest issues for customers was that the product itself felt cheap and flimsy. "The dishwasher cleans dishes- that's about the only positive comment," read one review on AJ Madison's site. "Interior is cheap – all plastics pieces are very cheap. It also does not dry dishes. Even on highest dry cycle, still excessive water in washer." The excess water was also noted by many other reviewers, and when left unattended, they found that it led to mold and unpleasant odors. Poor drying was a consistent issue for many customers, and one even wrote, "Do not even look at this product. It will not dry absolutely a single dish." Which is about as straightforward a warning as you can get. That said, if this is a current issue for you, there are some troubleshooting tips to try for a dishwasher that is not cleaning well.
Other areas where Electrolux failed to measure up
Another concern was with the quality of the dishwasher build as a whole. Unfortunately there were multiple complaints of pieces falling off, not fitting correctly, or breaking prematurely. One AJ Madison customer wrote, "There are pieces falling in the dishwasher when it is running and pieces falling on the floor. After contacting the warranty department they said those parts must not be crucial. It must just be from the force. If it's not leaking or making constant clicking sounds nothing is wrong." Another customer claimed that the handle came loose, while a different review claimed that their dishwasher worked for only a month and a half after purchasing.
Unfortunately, the nightmare doesn't stop there. Besides just not being a quality product, Electrolux is also apparently lacking in the customer service department. Multiple accounts stated that they were unhappy with both the responsiveness and results customer service provided. A customer seeking advice on mumsnet.com wrote, "5 visits from various Electrolux repair people failed to fix the problem (or rather they claimed it was fixed, only for it to break down again within 24 hours). Eventually, after making several complaints about the poor repair service, we got a free dishwasher from AEG (part of the same company). One year later and the same fault has reoccurred." This was also not the only case of poor responsiveness, and it seems that the difficulties regarding repairs and warranty issues comes from the fact that the warranty is managed by a third party rather than internally. Luckily, there are still a ton of reliable dishwasher brands to consider for your home if you are still searching.
