The Easy DIY That Gives Dollar Tree's Spooky Eyeballs A Major Upgrade

Having giant monster eyes stare at you seems like something that would only happen in a nightmare or a horror flick. So, it makes sense that they're perfect for the spooky season! If you love eerie Halloween decor, there's a budget-friendly project that allows you to create the creepiest eyeballs on the block. These eyes are far from average-sized; they're massive — and are great for giving friends and neighbors a chill down their spines (in a fun way, of course).

It starts with Dollar Tree's 2-pack of Halloween Creature Eyeballs. They come in a variety of ghoulish looks and are nearly 6 inches around. While they're frightening on their own, when you combine them with a Large Plastic Bowl from Dollar Tree, it's a total game-changer. With a few easy steps, the eyeballs become a 3D decoration that can be hung on the wall or used as yard decor, almost as if a creature is stalking you. But if you want to up that feeling, you could craft multiple pairs of eyeballs using various colors, and it'll be like a forest of monsters has awakened. There are many different ways to customize them — you just need to channel your inner Halloween spirit.

How to bring Dollar Tree's eyeballs to life

Since the plastic bowls are clear, you want to start by painting them. You could spray paint them white, and then add thin red veins for an extra kick. Or, paint them green instead to play up the monster look. After your bowls are dry, glue the Dollar Tree eyes (which are irises and pupils) onto the outside bottoms of the bowls. From there, you have multiple options. The first is to attach your set of eyes to either cardboard or a large wooden board, which will allow you to combine it with other scary items like cobwebs, spiders, or even Dollar Tree's Plastic Ping Pong Eyeballs.

Another idea is to turn your eyes into sea creatures. Spray insulation foam around them to create tentacles, and once dry, paint on creepy details that'll make them pop. Hang them as Halloween party decorations, or place them next to your front door for trick-or-treaters to enjoy. Speaking of spooky front door decor, these eyeballs can be used in the garden as well. Place a battery-operated light under each one for a glowing effect, and then line a walkway with them.

You can also set pairs of these 3D eyes in bushes to make it seem like there's something evil lurking within. Wrap the bushes with Halloween lights to bring it all together. Similarly, you can add glowing eyeballs to a tree or have them stick out from your garden. There are so many ways to decorate with these DIY eyeballs, but the project itself is a piece of cake.
