Glass jars are wonderful items to keep around for storage, but they can easily be made into gorgeous home decor pieces, too. If you're a fan of embracing the bohemian design style, you're going to adore this simple DIY. With just a few supplies, you can make a chic vase that is rich in texture and beauty. Not only does it match the carefree, boho vibe — it's also the perfect way to upcycle glass jars.

The first thing you'll need is a glass jar that is big enough to transform into a flower vase. You might have an empty one in your cabinet, or you can always check out your local thrift store. Don't worry if it has scuff marks or no lid;  you're going to be covering the glass, and the lid won't be necessary for the final product. Take a moment to clean it all up and remove the label from the glass jar. The other supplies you'll need to grab are jute twine and glue, such as clear E6000. Boho style mixes earthy tones with bright pops of color, which is why this flower vase incorporates both.

Give the jar a fabulous upgrade with twine

You're going to be wrapping the jute twine around the jar until it's fully covered. Starting just under the threaded neck — add a line of glue, then attach the end of the twine. As you wrap the twine around the jar, keep adding drops of glue to ensure it'll stay secured tightly to the glass. Continue wrapping until you reach the bottom. Once you're done, you can add a special embellishment to the neck. Use several pieces of twine to create a lovely braid to wrap around it. Or, use a colorful or patterned ribbon to create a pop that screams bohemian, which pairs well with the natural-material base.

It's now time for the cherry on top. Although the vase is charming on its own, decorate it even more by creating a design on the front. Cut up small pieces of jute twine and glue them on in the shape of a flower – forming the petals, stem, and leaves. For an added touch, gently comb the twine used for the petals to make them fan out. You could also create a different whimsical design, such as a butterfly, moon, or sun. Let your vase dry before moving to the next step.

The last thing to do is add vibrant flowers to your vase to complete it. Use a variety of saturated colors, such as red, purple, and yellow. Bohemian decor often tells a story, and this is a piece you'll definitely be able to talk about. Craft multiple vases and give each one its own unique design. They'll look amazing on a bedroom dresser, a living room table — or if you want to style the perfect boho entryway
