Some 2025 Christmas décor trends seem like they come straight out of a Hallmark movie. Take the Alpine lodge décor trend, which was reported on the Martha Stewart website in November of 2025. This trend has been popular for a few years now, and you'll find lots of creative ideas all over your favorite social media. It's a style that embraces all the touches and amenities that make holing up in an Alpine ski lodge during a winter snowstorm so utterly inviting. Snuggling on top of sheepskin rugs. Sipping on hot toddies or sweet minty cocoa. And pine. Lots and lots of pine. And all of this is, of course, set against the backdrop of a color palette that leans more toward "Little House in the Big Woods" than modern industrial design.

The color schemes in Alpine lodges draw from the snow-covered natural world. The hues and texture of this style come straight from the pine trees. The neutrals in this décor's color palette, like creamy beige and gray, honor the wood's ringed interior and rough bark exterior, respectively. The deep mossy greens give a nod to those piney branches that make our homes smell so yummy this time of year.

Introducing that color scheme into your home can happen in a myriad of ways. If you're not up for painting your rooms, even just to create a small Christmas gallery wall, you still have options. Temporary peel-and-stick wallpapers and floor tiles work in their place. Use them to change the colors of the walls and floors so that they're more aligned with the Alpine lodge color palette.

Using decorative accessories to create the Alpine lodge tone

Most of what will make your home look like a cozy Alpine lodge will come from the accessories you use to achieve the look. Many of these elements may not seem so unusual in a Christmas-themed display, but they're useful for setting the tone, mostly because they're so commonly used in this sort of setting. A logical place to start would be to twist pine boughs down the stair banister. These you can embellish with strings of btfarm fairy lights. These are a natural to stretch across the fireplace mantel, too.

And speaking of fireplaces, consider topping your mantle with a Smtyle fireplace candelabra candle holder and plenty of pillar candles. If your fireplace is gas, the same candle display works on top of a coffee or dining room table. In general, you probably can't have too many decorative candle displays wrapped in pine boughs and augmented with spiced-apple-scented pine cones and cinnamon sticks when you're decorating a room with the luxury Alpine lodge look.

For large swaths of color and Christmas, hang up something like the jinchan blackout curtains. These not only feature the right hue of green, but they also sport a cream-colored geometric design that resembles stylized pine trees in the snow. Tie them back with ribbons accented with pine boughs, pine cones, and winter berries. Throw blankets tossed over the back of the couch or on an armchair give you another way to bring large patches of color and Christmas into the space. (For an extra cozy touch, make sure they're made of fleece.)

Add small elements that are both decorative and practical

Not all of your Alpine Christmas vibe will come from purely decorative items. Some of your home's Alpine décor style can and should come from functional decorative touches, too. These are in keeping with what you find in an elegant winter lodge. They speak to not only the visuals of the aesthetic but the experiences you hope to have in the rooms, too. And some of the best ways to capture a decorating style is in the small details. Let's start with a tiny history lesson to bring this point home.

The etymology of the word "Alpine" means "of the Alps," as in the Alps mountains in Europe. In this region of the world, handmade, hand-painted toys are a common sight. In a nod to this decorative influence, create a game area in your Alpine lodge, featuring playthings made of wood, like Glintoper tic-tac-toe & tumble tower blocks. Augment the decorating theme in the game space by placing the wooden games on a Southern Rustic Logwerks pine and cedar coffee table, which boasts rough edges that look as if the bark still clings to the wood.

And finally, no cozy lodge would be complete without refreshment areas. Create multiple food-and-drink areas to spread the food-themed Alpine Christmas visuals around a bit. For example, in a corner, set up a bar cart decorated with pine boughs, old-fashioned wooden nutcrackers, and assorted packets of fancy holiday cocoa and coffee. And don't forget to decorate a large table with winter-themed dishware featuring images of pine trees to introduce the Alpine theme to your mealtimes, too.
