Turn A Dollar Tree Glass Into A Snowman Hat Candleholder With A DIY

When it comes to decorating for Christmas, you're either a buyer or a DIYer. If you like crafting your own memorable pieces, then nothing thrills you like making the perfect seasonal decor. With one trip to the Dollar Tree, you can gather nearly everything you need to transform a simple glass into a delightful snowman hat candleholder. This creative DIY project is perfect for decorating for Christmas on a budget, as most of the materials you'll need are at the discount retailer, and you can even incorporate items you have at home! 

Shopping in-store or online, you'll need Dollar Tree's Luminessence Glass Plate Candleholder and a Cylinder Candle Holder. To bring them together, grab a suitable adhesive, such as hot glue, Gorilla Glue, or E6000. For a traditional black snowman top hat look, you'll also need a can of black spray paint. If you plan on using a real candle in your finished DIY candleholder, choose a paint suited for high heat, such as Rust-Oleum High Heat Enamel Spray Paint in Bar-B-Que Black. 

It's easy to do this project. Start by spray painting the glass plate and the outside of the candleholder. Once dry, carefully glue the bottom of the candleholder to the center of the plate. With that, you've formed the hat. Tie a piece of holiday-themed ribbon around the base and add a bit of holly with berries (check out Dollar Tree for these as well) to complete a piece of Christmas decor straight out of a holiday storybook. It's now ready to serve as a festive shelf accent or table centerpiece. With a few creative twists, you'll make it even more magical.

You may find several variations of this holiday DIY online, and you can easily apply your own creative spin. First, let's explore the candles. You could make your own large scented candle with seasonal scents like peppermint or balsam, if you're inclined and have the supplies. Or, you might melt down a Dollar Tree candle and pour the melted wax into the candle jar to harden and cool.
