DIY A Cherry Blossom Tree That Lights Up To Make Your Home Look Absolutely Ethereal

But the determined crafter takes this as an opportunity to tackle a new DIY home project. You'd be surprised at what you can accomplish with a little confidence and some simple craft supplies. Light-up cherry blossom trees are one of those hot ticket decor pieces the internet is obsessed with. But its ethereal beauty comes at a price — anywhere between $80 and $200 to be specific. Believe it or not, you can easily recreate one for a fraction of the price with simple materials you can get at the Dollar Store.

You won't need anything too complex to complete this project. All you'll need is artificial dogwood or cherry blossom branches, florist tape, brown paint, a small pot, floral foam, decorative rocks, and fairy lights. You can buy a majority of these supplies at the Dollar Store, Walmart, or your local craft store. It's also worthwhile to search the thrift store for materials, as you can often find artificial branches, decorative rocks, and small pots. Once you have your materials together, you're ready to craft your very own trendy, whimsical accent cherry blossom light. 

To start this craft, spread out the branches of your artificial cherry blossom. Bunch up the branches and create a makeshift "trunk" with florist tape. Now use brown paint to cover the tape. You may need to mix up some colors for a more precise color match. Next, cut a piece of floral foam to fit snuggly into your pot. Be sure it's thick enough to support the weight of the branches. Once the faux branches dry, secure them in the florist foam. Fill the rest of the pot with decorative rocks, or perhaps faux moss if you prefer. Now string the fairy lights through the tree, following the lines of the branches.
