Concrete-inspired tiles are relatively low-maintenance. True concrete tiles require a lot of upkeep. Since they're porous, they easily absorb moisture and liquids, leading to stains. You must reseal them regularly to maintain their appearance. That's not a factor with concrete-inspired porcelain tiles. "With these tiles being porcelain, and not actual concrete, you get all of the great benefits of porcelain tile. Unlike concrete, it will not stain. It will also be scratch resistant, and durable for both indoor and outdoor areas," Capra said.

"If you prefer a more textured tile, you can play to the textures, or for a softer look, get one with a smoother finish.
