Beyond pool noodles, this project uses a small canvas, a sharp cutting tool, a hot glue gun, a base, a pizza pan, and a round mirror to create unique art-deco wall decor. This piece adds dimension and character to the room without taking up too much space. To replicate the creator's mirror wall art DIY in your home, grab some pool noodles from the dollar store. The original project uses a stretched canvas as the base, but you can also use cardboard or foam board, as long as it's stable enough to hold up your noodles. Before adhering your noodles to the base, choose the design and layout, and cut the pool noodles accordingly. Try cutting them into equal sized pairs, decreasing in length from the center out to the side. You can cut them into all different heights or make them all the same size. Then, decide if you want to arrange them vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. Use your hot glue gun to attach the pool noodles to the base to create your desired shape.
To make a mirror insert, trace your pizza pan on the center of the sculpture and cut out just the top layer of the pool noodles in that shape, making an opening. Add your paint, paper, or fabric of choice to the entire piece, and glue the pizza pan into the center hole. Glue your mirror to the pan for a sturdy base. For more decoration, you can add strips of tape, paper, or fabric to the ends of each noodle. Finally, attach it onto the wall for a stunning framed wall mirror.
