Robot vacuums are great for keeping your floors clean. However, if your home has a lot of carpets, choosing a robot vacuum becomes tricky. Don't worry, though! Consumer Reports has got your back. They recently tested a few robot vacuums and gave the Dyson 360 Vis Nav the highest score when it comes to cleaning carpets. It scored a perfect 5 out of 5, beating the iRobot Roomba Max 705, which was the best-performing robot vacuum in Consumer Reports' testing overall. Consumer Reports found that the Dyson 360 vis nav works super well at removing dirt from carpet.

Plus, it is hard to beat when it comes to picking up pet hair. In fact, Dyson 360 vis nav got a perfect 5 out of 5 for cleaning pet hair, too. The vacuum comes with 26 sensors, 360-degree navigation, four power modes, an 11.8-inch brush bar, and Dyson claims that the vacuum has twice the suction of any other robot vacuum. The vacuum can even automatically adjust suction based on debris levels.  In addition to this, Consumer Reports also gave Dyson 360 vis nav a score of 4/5 for edges. 

They mention that it uses an extending side duct rather than a conventional side brush, which does a very good job of cleaning those hard-to-reach corners. Still, the Dyson 360 Vis Nav still might not be the best choice for everyone. Although the Dyson 360 Vis Nav received a perfect score for carpet cleaning and an overall score of 71 from Consumer Reports, the full report points out several drawbacks. For instance, it received only a 3 out of 5 for navigation and noise, and Consumer Reports even noted that it often got trapped around furniture and obstacles. They mention that the robot vacuum makes multiple runs through the same space and gets easily stuck. Plus, they only scored it 2 out of 5 for data privacy. The score is based on more than 70 criteria and includes a detailed analysis of how a company collects and uses the user data.

Buyers have also given Dyson 360 Vis Nav mixed reviews on Amazon. While many buyers seem to love its actual cleaning power, especially on carpets, not all are happy with its performance. For instance, nearly 32% of its ratings are 1-star. The negative reviews, once again, seem to be about noise and the vacuum getting stuck. Plus, some users had concerns about the app being finicky. You should definitely keep these things in mind before buying a robot vacuum. 

It is also important to note that the Dyson 360 Vis Nav does not self-empty. So, when it gets full, you will have to empty it yourself. Plus, its battery life also seems to be a hit or miss.
