It's also worth considering what impact mower deck size has on the time it's likely to take to mow your lawn. Assuming that the task is carried out reasonably regularly, it will take roughly an hour and a quarter to mow an acre using a mower with a 42-inch deck. At the other end of the scale, cutting a 10-acre plot with a 72-inch mower deck can take over 7 hours. Given the time and the cost of machinery, you might want to consider hiring a professional to do it for you.
