The Costco Markdown Is Massive On This Laundry Appliance From LG

A new washer and dryer isn't a purchase anyone loves making. When looking for a new couch, you might get excited about how comfy and pretty it is. But when shopping for a new washing machine or dryer ... picturing yourself doing laundry is way less fun. To make it worse, washer and dryer combos aren't cheap. But every so often, there's a massive markdown that makes buying laundry appliances easier. Right now, that's what Costco is offering on LG's WashTower unit, a stacked washer and dryer.

The LG WashTower Single Unit ELECTRIC with Center Control typically costs $2,899 (we know, not cheap). But right now and until June 16, 2026, Costco is offering a discount to its members, bringing the price down to $1,999 for the black or green models. There is also a white model that's now priced at $1,899.99, an additional $100 off. Considering this unit does both washing and drying, it makes the cost per-appliance equal or cheaper than LG's individual units.

This is a washer that's well suited for busy homes with heavy laundry days. The washer and dryer's capacity is roomy enough for large loads (4.5 cubic feet for the washer and 7.4 cubic feet for the dryer). It's a good option for large families who are constantly washing sheets, towels, or stained clothes and who need efficiency without sacrificing space. Several of the reviews mention that the unit is extremely quiet, which is a great quality for families with young kids, allowing you to run a load even during their afternoon nap. Plus, there's a Wi-Fi setting that lets you remotely start and monitor a load from an app so that you can fit laundry day within your family's schedule.

Who is the LG WashTower right for?

Even with the Costco discount, the LG WashTower is a financial investment. When deciding whether this is the right appliance for you, there are a few things to consider. First, this is a high-tech and modern model that has all of the latest technology. The benefit of buying it on sale is that you're essentially paying the same price as you would for a less sophisticated stacked washer and dryer unit, but getting something that leverages more modern features: Wi-Fi monitoring, built-in AI, touch pad control center, and a dryer technology called TurboSteam that you can use to skip ironing and remove wrinkles from clothes in just a few minutes.

But the key advantage of this unit is its size. This LG WashTower measures around 30 inches deep and wide. It packs its punch in its height: over 74 inches, or 6 feet. Because this is a single unit with two appliances built-in, it's able to save tons of floor space. Think of it as stacking your dryer on top of your washer, but in a safe and sleek way.

If you live in a small condo, this is a good alternative to using a mini washing machine or air-drying your clothes, since it can fit in a tall but skinny closet. It's also great to maximize every square inch of a small laundry room, allowing you to use the extra floor space for storage, shelving, or supplies. However, even if you don't have a closet or laundry room, this appliance looks sleek and modern enough to stay out in the open.
