When it comes to outdoor furniture, it can be difficult to balance functionality and style. Patio furniture isn't like the type you use indoors; it needs to be resistant to sun, humidity, and cold. But it also needs to be cute! Finding the right pieces that are both stylish and convenient isn't easy, but it's possible. For example, Costco has a small outdoor table that doubles as storage, perfect to give your patio a beachy vibe.

The Stylecraft outdoor storage table is small sidekick for your patio retailing for $98.99 at the members-only warehouse retailer. It's a short cylinder that measures a little over17 inches tall and nearly 14 inches in diameter. It has white textured edges and a wooden lid on top. On both sides, there are handles made of jute rope that you can use to lift the table and move it around. It's that combination of the table's crisp white exterior against natural materials like jute and wood that gives the piece such a beautiful beachy vibe.

The lid can be used as a small side table, perfect to hold a glass of lemonade, a book, some snacks, or portable speaker while you're out on the patio. When you lift it open, it unlocks a roomy bin that you can fill with all sorts of things. Plus, it has a built-in drainage hole and plug at the bottoms, so you can fill it with ice and use it as a cooler to bring your garden party to life. When the ice melts, just open the plug and drain the water. And because of that plug system, you can easily wash the container if it gets dirty. So don't refrain from using it to store messy things like gardening equipment or shoes.

How to use Costco's storage table to make your patio life easier

This kind of piece is a great way to decorate your home and patio like a beach house, but it's also functional. By using a table that doubles as beautiful patio storage, you'll be able to make your life a whole lot easier: Keep small items that you typically need when you're out enjoying your patio, and you can avoid having to make several trips in and out of the house to fetch them. For example, you could store what you need for a typical evening out on the patio like outdoor blankets for when it gets cool, mosquito spray for when the bugs come out at dusk, and small camping lamps for when it gets too dark. You can also use this table to store all of your essentials for a day out sunbathing: spare sunglasses, hand fans, or flip flops.

For small items that might get lost in there, consider using plastic containers. You can even use clear boxes with lids that are meant for the kitchen, like these DecorRack food storage containers or any Tupperware-style sealable container. These will fit snugly inside the cylinder, but they can prevent small items from getting lost, like hair ties or bug spray.

But because the table isn't moisture-proof or temperature controlled, there are a few things you should avoid storing in there. Sunscreen, for example, can get damaged by heat and become less effective. Some other things might get damaged by humidity, like books, decks of cards, portable speaker, or tissues.
