There are certain vintage dishware brands that are exciting to find at thrift stores for affordable prices. Pyrex is one of those brands, especially when you come across unique patterns and colors that are typically hard to find. Some of rarer patterns and pieces of vintage Pyrex that collectors hunt for at the thrift store were specifically released as promotional items. From 1953 until 1983, the brand would release seasonal items designed to be given as a gift or to add to a collection, and one of those promotional releases from 1958 was the Cinderella Serving Casserole 575 B.

While this piece did not originally have an official pattern name when it was released, the design itself earned it the name Pink Scroll, although it sometimes gets called Scroll Pink instead. The Pink Scroll Casserole dish is a 2-quart rectangular serving dish that was released with both a clear lid and a metal cradle, with the cradle being used as a way to easily carry these dishes and to protect the table and countertops from their heat. The exterior of the casserole dish is pink with a decorative scroll pattern on the front, which is how it earned the name Pink Scroll, while the interior and underside are in the classic milk glass white. If you love the color pink, finding this dishware from the thrift store would be a great way to add a decorative and practical touch to your home, especially in the kitchen.

When shopping at the thrift store, spotting a high demand dishware pattern can be exciting, especially if it's good condition. If you're able to find the Pink Scroll Pyrex, there are a few things you want to check for, including the trademark. This piece should have Pyrex in capital letters on the bottom of the dish, with the words "Made in USA" directly underneath the brand. Above the word Pyrex, you'll see both the pattern number and the size of the dish — the casserole dish should read "575-B 2 Qt." 

Another thing to pay attention to is the condition, as you want to find pieces that don't have chips or cracks. It's also important to check for scratches on the paint, as many decorative paints contained lead prior to 1978. This can be a concern if the plan is to use this piece for serving food, although the interior should still be safe since the paint is restricted to the exterior of the dish.  

If you're able to find the Pyrex Pink Scroll pattern on the secondhand market, the real value comes in having all three pieces that were released together. Even without the lid or cradle, there are people willing to pay up to $83 for just the dish, with a few currently listed for sale. However, with all three pieces the value increases, with one set selling for $195.99. Even without the cradle, this is a great piece to pick up — another eBay seller got $124.89 for the casserole dish with lid.
