Are Walmart Sofas Worth Buying? Here's What Reviews Say

A living room without a sofa is like a bedroom without a bed. But if you have purchased a starter home in 2026, rented your first apartment, or moved to a new city, you might not yet have the funds to splurge on lavish furniture. Or, maybe you want to replace your broken set but have a strict budget. Many people turn to big-box retailers like Walmart for affordable furniture essentials. After all, these stores usually have some of the best sofas for under $750. But we must do our due diligence: Are Walmart sofas worth buying? Though it stocks different varieties, organic customer reviews on the perceived value of these sofas are somewhat mixed.

You can search through sectionals, futons, and sofa beds, as well as different sizes, frame materials, fabric qualities, shapes, and much more. You can even filter results by brand (about 50 options) if you have your heart set on a particular company. Another advantage is that you will likely always find budget-friendly Walmart furniture pieces because of the corporation's lowest-price promise. Plus, you may save more money if you buy a sofa from the clearance section or if you don't mind waiting around for holiday sales, like Black Friday. 

As far as the cons, a major disadvantage is not being able to test the sofa before ordering. Not all sofas featured on Walmart's website are in-store. Even if the sofa is at a physical location, Walmart can't display hundreds of couches. Plus, free fabric swatches aren't generally available, and you cannot customize these sofas since they are from outside brands. Lastly, if a new sofa is listed with no reviews, you may not be able to base your purchasing decision on reviews.
