Emily Hampshire From Schitt's Creek Just Bought Two Homes In LA

It looks like Canadian-born actor Emily Hampshire has become the new owner of two Los Angeles homes in one fell swoop. Hampshire started her acting career back in 1994 on the popular kids show "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" But she is probably best known for her role as the quirky, overly-sarcastic owner of the shabby Rosebud Motel, Stevie Budd, on the multiple award-winning series "Schitt's Creek." Now that she's not in charge of changing linens and putting up with the demanding needs of the Rose family on the hit show — which ended its run in 2020 — she can set her sites on living the sunny life in her new L.A. real estate.

The Redesdale Avenue residences she bought are located in Silver Lake, California, and came with a price tag of $2.655 million. According to the New York Post, the multi-home property sits on a corner lot and was originally purchased back in November 2021, but at the time, the owner's name could not be revealed due to issues of privacy. Here's the rundown on Hamphire's new dwellings.

Details about the actors' new homes

The two homes sit on 2,096 square feet of land and are located near the Silver Lake Reservoir in northern Los Angeles. One of the houses on the property was one of the first original homes built in the Silver Lake area back in 1927, according to the listing on Redfin. It is of Spanish-Moorish design and has scenic views of the mountains and cityscapes. The guest house which has a private entrance and its own personal yard was built on the property later in 1949.

Both of the one-bedroom homes have undergone recent restoration and share a three-car garage, and it also comes with a bonus basement studio space. Awash in the California sunshine, this property is set up on a tiny hill that is perfect for soaking in all of the views of the surrounding trees and greenery that are native to the area.
