She also reported on industry news for Media Update. She has since moved into copywriting, producing content across multiple industries, including the home design space. Cassy now works as a freelance copywriter and copy editor, specializing in content related to home, interior design, and gardening.

She holds a bachelor's degree and a postgraduate diploma in journalism and media studies from Rhodes University in South Africa.
