Interior Design, DIY, Yard Care
- Jennifer was first bitten by the home decorating bug at age 10, when her parents let her choose the paint colors (blue and purple), bedding (a gingham bedspread and floral print sheets), and window treatments (white sheers) for her bedroom makeover.
- The pride and joy of her yard is a potted lemon tree she's been nurturing for over three years. It spends every winter in her home office, right beside her desk.
- Her favorite DIY project was painting her cabinets sky blue, which instantly transformed her kitchen from dark and dreary to bright and airy.
Experience
Jennifer has been a professional writer for nearly 20 years. She began in editorial and research positions at publications like The Daily Deal and Venture Wire but quickly moved on to full-time writing. Eager to cover topics she felt passionate about, including home decor, gardening, DIY projects, and home maintenance, she transitioned to freelance writing. Since then, she has written for outlets like BestReviews, Yahoo! Life, SFGate, the New York Daily News, Better Homes and Gardens, and the Chicago Tribune. She inherited her current home from her mother several years ago and has been working to update it room by room, leaving her a self-professed DIY expert.
