In 2025, Jennifer completed a master gardener program, which included 50 hours of plant education and 50 volunteer hours of hands-on gardening experience around the community.
She grows and preserves her own food, raises chickens, and incorporates native landscaping into her shady property.
After a childhood spent in the Tennessee countryside, Jennifer now lives on a suburban homestead in Virginia, where she is restoring a 1961 house.

Experience

Prior to joining House Digest, Jennifer served as an editor at Backyard Boss, CBS News, and Topix, where she often covered gardening, food, and housekeeping topics and made product recommendations. She has also contributed to The New York Times, TIME magazine, UPROXX, Sojourners, and The Los Angeles Review of Books. In addition to editorial positions, she has worked in SEO, marketing, and social media and is a master gardener. Jennifer is actively involved in a local CSA to learn more about edible gardening and native plants.

Education

She has a bachelor's degree from Lee University in journalism and media writing.
