Experience
With over 20 years of professional writing experience, Katie has successfully generated hundreds of news articles, blog posts, interviews, concert reviews, album reviews, press releases, proposals, essays, and academic papers. Preferring to not have one specific writing niche, she's been featured in home improvement, law, business, health, education, fire and safety, automotive, music, and gardening websites, such as BobVila.com, Domino.com, Pure Home Improvement, Boyer Law Firm, Price It Here, B-Lann Equipment, Money Task Force, UroTuning, Colorado Music Buzz, Boulder Weekly, and many more. She has written home improvement articles covering everything from window replacement cost to what to consider when budgeting for a new lawn, and even how to identify the difference between termite and carpenter ant damage. Beyond writing about DIY projects for homeowners, Katie spent 17 years as a musicology professor at the Metropolitan State University of Denver. She has taken her academic writing experience and transferred it to the world of home improvement. Katie aims to make her writing clear and helpful for homeowners, whether they're looking to tackle a home renovation themselves or find the right professional for the job.
