Beyond writing about DIY projects for homeowners, Katie spent 17 years as a musicology professor at the Metropolitan State University of Denver. She has taken her academic writing experience and transferred it to the world of home improvement. Katie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education and Clarinet Performance from the College of Saint Rose; a certificate in French and German Studies from SUNY Albany; a Master of Music degree in Musicology from Ball State University; and a Master of Music degree in Musicology and Ph.D coursework from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
