  • Lisa bought her childhood home in 2017 and redecorated most of it by herself. Many of the furnishings are family heirlooms or antique store finds.

Experience

Lisa has been a writer her whole life, and a published writer for more than 20 years. Her first ever news article was published in the college newspaper in 2003 and appeared on the front page above the fold – the most prominent placement for any newspaper story – and she had not yet taken a single newswriting course. A few months later, she began a 13-year career at The Augusta Chronicle, a daily newspaper that touted itself as "the oldest newspaper in the South." Her writing and reporting won three awards from the Georgia Press Association. Her Today's Home articles appeared on the front page of the real estate section every Sunday. After leaving the Chronicle, Lisa wrote articles with global interest for WhereTraveler, which included topics on food, travel and interesting hotels from around the world. In 2019, Lisa moved into public relations for an academic medical center and in 2020, completed a masters degree in communications from Purdue University.

Lisa holds a bachelor's in communications from Augusta University and a master's in strategic communication from Purdue University.
