Mallory Carra

• From 2014 until 2020, Mallory worked as an assistant/office manager for a general contractor, where she learned all about the ins and outs of house foundations, Southern California Building & Safety permits and plan check, and the home buying process.
• Mallory has been an avid gardener since 2014, growing everything from sunflowers and herbs to succulents and cacti.
• She is a long-time renter obsessed with looking for home organization hacks and renter-friendly DIY projects for her home.

Mallory Carra is an award-winning journalist, editor, producer and professor based in Los Angeles with over 20 years of professional experience across digital, audio, and print/text. She is a part-time professor, teaching video, audio, and digital journalism at the USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism, advising students on news and feature stories. As a journalist and editor herself, Mallory has pretty much covered it all, including the great outdoors, food, lifestyle, home, real estate, pets and more for media outlets such as the New York Daily News, Stacker.com, Trulia, Bustle, and The Daily Meal, among many others. She began her journalism career in newspapers as a staff writer for the Chattanooga Times Free Press in Tennessee and The News & Observer in North Carolina.

Education

Mallory received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and history from New York University and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Screenwriting from the University of Southern California.
