Victoria Donahoe

• Victoria has worked with indoor plants in a professional setting for over three years, helping customers and friends care for their own houseplants.
• She has more than 30 houseplants, including rare plants that are more difficult to care for indoors. She and her husband built a small greenhouse cabinet, along with shelving units for her entire collection.
• Victoria uses her minor in environmental studies to write about sustainable topics for local and regional publications. She promotes and informs about a more eco-friendly lifestyle.

Experience

Victoria's passion for writing has been a constant throughout her whole life. Her career began in college at the University of Cincinnati, where she served as a contributing writer for the school's student-run newspaper, The News Record. She wrote articles on eco-friendly ways to participate in Halloween costumes and guides to caring for houseplants while living in a dorm room. During her final year at the University of Cincinnati, she took on an editorial internship with Cincinnati Magazine, learning the ins and outs of the editorial process. Since graduating, she has maintained a freelance relationship with Cincinnati Magazine, covering beats like local news, style, real estate, and sustainable businesses. Following her passion for sustainability, Victoria is a volunteer contributing writer for Earth.Org, an online publication covering environmental issues, her first article featuring "how-to" style education on composting at home. During and after college, Victoria managed a small business in Cincinnati that sold houseplants, learning almost everything there is to know about caring for indoor tropicals at home, which fueled a passion for educating others on how to care for their indoor greenery properly.
