The Wallpaper Trend That The Fixer To Fabulous Team Swears By

There seems to be an endless amount of trends to follow to create a beautiful and unique design for your home — from accent walls to large light fixtures, playful paint colors, and fun tile patterns. However, some trends seem to be more disastrous than helpful, so it's always wise to take a look at what the experts think, such as co-hosts of "Fixer to Fabulous," Dave and Jenny Marrs. According to HGTV, this power couple is known for renovating historic residences in their town of Bentonville, Arkansas, and turning them into spaces families can call home.

Now, they've revealed a wallpaper trend they know will elevate the appearance of any room. Not only does wallpaper come in a variety of colors, patterns, and textures, but it's also capable of lasting over 15 years, which is three times longer than paint, per 1838 Wallcoverings. If this is something that has piqued your interest, take a look at what the Marrses believe will give your home the updated look you've been wanting.

A unique and stylish touch to any space

According to the Marrses, adding wallpaper to the ceiling may be exactly what your space is missing, (via Realtor.) While designing a dining room, this was one of their last steps to creating a fabulous design. "It's already beautiful now that it's painted, but we're going to take it up a notch and put some wallpaper on the ceiling," said Jenny Marrs. "This is a chance to have some fun with pattern and color that's just a little more subtle when it's on the ceiling." The fan-shaped pattern she chose was dimensional yet simple and complementary.

They used this technique again in season 2 episode 5, while renovating a home for the Brewer family, per Dave and Jenny Mars. Here, they added a dark floral wallpaper to the ceiling of the bathroom, which contrasted against the white tiles installed on the floor and walls. They did this to maintain some of the traditional aspects found throughout the home during the renovation. In the end, this space combined the best of vintage and modern decor.
