Make Your Faucets Sparkle And Shine With A Favorite Adult Beverage

A faucet is an indispensable feature of your sink. Regardless of their placement in your kitchen, bathroom, or laundry room, faucets are used frequently and, as such, develop water stains and mildew spots. If neglected, they can even accumulate dirt and grime. This makes cleaning them important from a hygiene point of view. Moreover, an unclean faucet will get damaged over time, dramatically shortening its 15 to 20-year lifespan. Luckily, a favorite adult beverage — vodka —  can be exactly what you need to clean your household faucets.

Though an unconventional choice, vodka is an excellent cleaning agent to help your faucets sparkle and shine. It's non-toxic and colorless, so you won't have to worry about vodka ruining your expensive faucets. Moreover, its high alcohol content makes it a great disinfectant that'll happily kill off all the lingering bacteria on your stainless steel faucet. Better yet, it's comparatively odorless, so its smell magically disappears as soon as it's dry, ensuring your home doesn't smell like a bar.

Vodka will keep your faucets sparkling

To begin, make sure you crack open a cheap bottle and leave out your top-shelf collection for other memorable occasions. If possible, pour the vodka into a spray bottle and spray it on your faucet directly, rubbing it in with a clean microfiber cloth. Alternatively, you can pour some vodka on a clean sponge or cloth and scrub to get rid of the water stains.

If you'd like to err on the side of caution, you can also combine vodka and water equally and pour the prepared solution into a spray bottle. Use the diluted spirit on your chrome faucets and rub it in with a clean cloth to bring back the shine. In case you don't particularly care for the alcohol smell of vodka, you can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil(s) to the DIY cleaning solution for a pleasant experience.
