Whisker's Litter-Robot 4 Proves It's Every Pet Owner's Dream At CES 2024

Each year, the Consumer Technology Association hosts the Consumer Electronics Show, one of the largest and most expansive electronic trade shows in the world. At CES, brands, developers, and ambassadors share the newest innovations in technology, covering topics that range from 3D printing to robotics. While that might sound like a far cry from the kind of content we cover here at House Digest, the home of IKEA hacks and trendy home décor ideas, CES also highlights a wide array of new innovations in the home space that can help to streamline and pare down our daily routines.

One of the most exciting areas of development, specifically, is in the pet tech space. If you're a pet owner, you know it's not uncommon to spend hours each week making sure your home stays clean, safe, and cozy for your furry friends, whether you're picking up dog toys strewn about the house or trimming your cat's nails to minimize the scratches they leave on your couch. With that being said, there was one product at the trade show that beat out the others and took home the House Digest CES Innovation Award 2024: the Whisker Litter-Robot 4.

The Whisker Litter-Robot 4

One of the most frustrating parts of being a cat owner is constantly having to scoop and clean the litter box, but Whisker is looking to eliminate that problem entirely with their Litter-Robot 4. Traditional litter boxes require you to handle waste on your own, but the Litter-Robot 4 filters out waste after every cycle, prevents litter from getting kicked around the room, and suppresses odor. It even connects with an app that allows you to keep track of litter levels, your cats' weights, and their bathroom habits, even if you have multiple cats using the same box. This tracking is something that the president and CEO of Whisker Jacob Zuppke said helped him to identify a medical issue with his own pet at home.

"But with the app, I was actually able to identify a UTI in our household with our cat Lexi because she started to go more frequently than normal," Zuppke said in an exclusive interview with House Digest. "We rushed her to the vet, and lo and behold, she had a UTI, and with the regular litter box, we likely would have never seen that."

The technology behind this self-cleaning litter box is impressive, but that doesn't mean that it's at the sacrifice of style. The Litter-Robot 4 comes in two base colors — white and black — and you have the option to choose between eight different bezel colors and patterns. The Litter-Robot 4 is available to purchase on Whisker's website starting at $699.
