By adhering solar lights to the top of the decorative lids (with the light source facing into the jar), the solar panel absorbs light during the day and fills the jar with light once the sun goes down.

While these Dollar Tree jar lanterns are pretty straightforward to make, TikTok creator @thecraftedstudioco offers a quick walkthrough. They removed the bottom part of the solar light stakes, leaving only the component with a solar panel and light source. Then, using E6000 glue, they attached the solar light to the top of their chosen decorative lid and hung the newly created lanterns on the hooked garden stakes. Note that you'll need a lid with an opening on it so that the light from the solar lantern can peek through.

You can leave the solar jar lantern as is, or coat it with spray paint to give your outdoor areas a pop of color. Opt for classic clear Mason jars or blue Ball jars, and further design them using rope or textile materials to accentuate your existing decor. For an elegant feel, consider using solar fairy lights on Amazon instead of Dollar Tree solar lights.
