The bathroom is a spot in the house that's nice to incorporate a little bit of luxury. Whether it's plushy towels, candles, or beautiful light fixtures — it can make a big difference every time you enter the space. And, sometimes, it's the tiniest details that can help boost your mood too. One DIYer shared a chic yet straightforward way to make a marble shelf for the bathroom — it's nothing short of charming. It doesn't take many supplies, nor much time — but the final piece is the perfect way to liven up your bathroom on a budget.

Marble is the type of stone that screams luxury, and it has been utilized for thousands of years. It's a costly building material that elevates any home, pairing elegantly with wood and metal — and even small pieces can bring a touch of elegance. This DIY shelf mimics the beauty of marble without requiring a project that breaks the bank. The shelf is small and ideal for displaying your favorite items, like perfume bottles, bath salts, or handmade soaps. Or, it would be a great spot for a lit candle as you soak in the bath.

Here's how you craft this lovely shelf

It starts with a trip to your local hardware store, where you'll head to the tile section. The DIYer was able to find a few pieces with a marble look. She chose a rectangle tile and two tile ledges. While she doesn't specify the exact measurements, they appear to be around 12 inches long. As for yours, you can make it whatever size fits your needs best. The only other supply that's needed is Liquid Nails Heavy Duty Construction Adhesive. That's it! Now it's time to put the shelf together.

Begin by adding glue to the tile ledges. Then attach them to the bottom of the main tile, placing one on each side. Finally, remove any excess glue using a Q-tip and let it dry. Your DIY marble bathroom shelf is now complete! It can be placed on a countertop as a piece of home décor, ready to display your perfume collection, trinkets, or potted succulents. Depending on the sizes of tiles available, you could create matching accessories, such as a container to house a lotion bottle or toothbrushes. You could also make multiple shelves for use on top of the toilet or vanity. Although simple, it's a little pop you'll appreciate every time you walk in. Keep in mind that you could even use leftover tile from a house project, or make it a different shape or size. Hopefully, it's the one bathroom upgrade you've been looking for.
