Aldi Has A Stunning Dupe For Anthropologie's Dishware, But Is It Worth Buying?

Spotting deals is a fun pastime, but it's also a necessity for lots of us. If our dishware needs a trendy seasonal refresh, it's probably not Anthropologie that we'll be spending our hard earned cash at. But as for inspiration, Anthro brings it in spades. Discount giant Aldi has launched a line of plastic dishware that's strikingly similar to ceramic ones found at Anthropologie, and its cheap charm is garnering a lot of attention. At $4.99 for sets of four plates or bowls in either pink, beige, or green, Aldi's Crofton Scalloped Dinnerware is hard to turn down. But is this dupe worth buying?

The fluted edges on these plates and bowls are a budget-conscious and trendy way to incorporate scalloped design into your home. Moreover, the soft pastels and user-friendly plastic design would make any summer tablescape look delicious. If you're entertaining outdoors, have a household full of accident-prone humans, or just deserve a treat (yes, you do!), nab some sets of these plates and bowls before they disappear from the shelves, possibly forever.

Why buy Crofton Scalloped Dinnerware now?

Anything with a Joanna Gaines-approved scalloped design is hard to keep in stock these days. Anthro's Beatriz dishes that Aldi has mimicked are selling like the hotcakes that may someday sit upon them. Yet, they're priced between nearly 10 to 13 times as much as Aldi's versions. And the price difference does make sense; Anthropologie's line of high-quality ceramics is meant for long-term use rather than the Aldi product's on-trend convenience. Instead, Aldi's take is perfect for meals on the patio, snacks by the pool, and carefree packing into picnic baskets.

This summer isn't the first rodeo for Aldi's scalloped dishware. In past seasons, their wavy edges helped them fly off the shelves and into homes, and their limited supply had shoppers salivating at the chance to buy them again. Although there aren't scores of consumer reviews for these particular products, Aldi's kitchenwares do get plenty of positive mentions on Reddit.

Summer's warmth and wealth of outdoor fun goes hand in hand with entertaining and al-fresco eating, and precious breakables like Anthro's ceramics don't pair well with patio dining. Aldi's Crofton scalloped dishware is labeled BPA-free and safe for use in microwaves and dishwashers. Combined with its price and durability, these plates and bowls are bound to become an outdoor entertaining essential for fun in summer and beyond.
