Large mirrors can have a lot of impact on spaces where they are used to their best advantage. They can make a room feel brighter and larger, as well as create a stunning focal point above a mantel or other large piece of furniture. Finding the best large mirror for your home can be expensive, with larger and more luxe models costing hundreds of dollars. Luckily, TikToker, @thegooch has an ingenious DIY that takes several small, inexpensive mirrors from Dollar Tree and turns them into a stunning large paneled mirror using just some hot glue and other budget-friendly supplies.

The end result is a stunning vintage-inspired mirror that you can completely customize in size and shape to fit your space, all for only a few dollars. This makes a great solution for large empty wall spaces where you want to create more light or the illusion of continuous space. You'll find that if you place your new mirror opposite a window, it will reflect light back into the room and make a darker space feel more open and airy. This creation also makes a perfect entryway mirror to check your outfit before leaving home. It proves that inexpensive décor elements can often have a big impact on your space, particularly when used in clever DIYs that utilize basic elements in beautiful ways.

How to create a large mirror using smaller ones

To get started, you'll need the required number of Rectangular Beveled Mirrors to create the finished project in your desired size both horizontally and vertically. Keep in mind, larger configurations will need more bracing on the backside, but you can also fasten smaller groupings together that can be hung in separate segments. Begin gluing the sides of the mirrors together in groupings of 3-5 across, then work vertically. To provide some added support, use some long paint sticks or other pieces of wood across the back, fastened with some glue. You can also use black Gaffers Tape to add additional reinforcement between rows.

Either leave the mirrors in their original finish, or give them an antiqued glass or distressed look with some spritzed water and a light dusting of black spray paint. Gently press a cloth over the entire mirror to create the mottled effect of a century-old mirror. Make sure you just dab with the cloth to remove the water rather than rubbing it across the surface. You can do this before or after assembling the mirrors together.

Create the perfect vintage wall decor look you want with variations

Variations on this project are endless, with many cool Dollar Tree mirrors that can be used similarly, like these Hexagonal Mirrors or these Jot Multicolored Locker Mirrors for a fun and playful look. You can also use these glittered Mirrored Candle Holders, which are smaller in their dimensions, but will give your wall decor a more luxe look. Additionally, circular mirrors would offer a fun and geometric spin that can be arranged asymmetrically for a modern touch. For flatter, frameless rectangular mirrors that aren't beveled, you can also add pieces of wood trim between the rows to create a rustic farmhouse window mirror.

Use this project to decorate with mirrors along a wall in lieu of traditional artworks. Pose it above a mantle or use it as a vanity mirror in a bedroom or wardrobe as an alternative to a traditional full-length. It also makes a perfect hallway mirror since you can easily adjust it to create the best size for the space. Because it resembles a window, you can use it anywhere you'd like to add some additional interest to an otherwise plain wall.
