DIY An Elegant Mirror Vase Using Affordable Dollar Tree Supplies

If you're looking for an affordable way to add elegance to a table arrangement or just a new vase to brighten up your entryway, this DIY is what you need. Using Dollar Tree supplies, you get a new way to show off flowers and a vase that adds a touch of class, which you only get by decorating with mirrors. It won't take you long to put this one together and put it to use beautifying your home.

You'll need two Dollar Tree Cooking Concepts Bamboo Cutting Boards and a 21" wooden ruler. They come in packs of three, but you'll only need one for this vase. Use a hacksaw to cut the ruler into three sections: two that fit down the side of the vase, and one for the bottom. Use wood glue to attach the cut pieces to the first cutting board. Once they're secure, glue the second cutting board to complete the rectangle and spray paint it in the color of your choice.

You can then use E6000 glue to attach chunky mosaic mirror tiles down the sides and grace each corner of the front. Cut strips of DIY disco tiles to frame the edges. Feel free to play around with different mosaic patterns to achieve the look you want. You can finish off with a Round Luminessence Glass Mirror Candleholder in the center, though a hexagonal or rectangular-shaped mirror will also look great.

More than just a mirror vase

While there are ways to make your decorative fake flowers seem real, you may prefer the look and scent of freshly cut blooms. If you want to use fresh cut flowers in the vase, insert a few tall cylindrical bud vases and fill them with single flowers such as dahlias, delicate peonies, or a tall stem of cymbidium orchids. As the vase is already ornate, taking a minimal approach to the arrangement you use it for will allow them both to shine. Rectangular vases have narrower openings, which makes them ideal for smaller arrangements.

Take the mirrored theme a step further by DIY'ing a stunning mirror accent wall with a few finds from Dollar Tree, and use your vase as a complementary decor item to match. Hosting a seasonal dinner party? Decorate the front and back of the vase so that you can use it as a centerpiece. Replace flowers with seasonal elements, such as Valentine's Day Glittery Heart Foam Picks, decorative Easter eggs on sticks, or stars and angels for a festive season feast.

The lovely thing about this DIY is that you're not limited to using it as a vase. Think outside the flower box and repurpose the vase on your desk as a quick-grab stationery holder. Use it in your craft room to hold your collection of paintbrushes, pairs of scissors, or other supplies. Surrounding yourself with beautiful things is a great way to get your creative juices flowing.
