As the designated get-ready zone, bathroom counters are often covered with toiletries, cosmetics, hair tools, and more. But excessive clutter can actually be harmful to your health, hiding away bacteria and germs. While it is important to clean and tidy up this space, you don't have to look farther than your kitchen cabinet for some of the most useful organization tools. You can cleverly turn old glass jars into cute storage for clutter-free bathroom countertops by creating a handy wall organizer.

The type of jars you use for this project can range in size and color, but you want to make sure they're all the same, if you can. You can reuse old glass jars around the house, or purchase them from your favorite thrift store. Glass jars are an excellent choice because they don't leak out harmful chemicals, making them a more eco-friendly and safer storage option compared to plastic, especially for toothbrushes, floss sticks, cotton swabs, and anything else that you might use on your skin or put in your mouth. For this project, you'll need a wooden board, three glass jars, a pack of Jersvimc stainless steel conduit clamps in the size that will fit around the jars you're using, and a pair of D-ring hangers. After you've made the board, don't forget to decorate and style it, and then find the perfect spot to hang it so that it's easily within reach.

How to make your glass storage organizer

You never have to worry about cluttered bathroom countertops when you create extra bathroom storage space by making this cute DIY wall organizer. Either have a pre-cut board ready, or measure and cut a wooden board to fit the spot you would like to install the organizer. On one side of the piece, mark out where both the top and the bottom of the jars should fit, leaving a little overhang for the positioning of the clamps. Mark out the vertical edges of each jar and put a dot on each side. On each of the two lines, you should have at least six marks, which will mark the position of the screws for the clamps. Once all the marks are on the surface, take a screwdriver and punch a shallow hole into each spot.

Sand down the piece and stain it with your desired color, following the instructions on the can. You can also spray paint the clamps to match your bathroom's fixtures. After everything dries, flip the board over to the back, and attach at least two D-ring hangers. Turn it back over and place your jars between the marks you've made. Put one clamp around the top and bottom of each jar and secure them in place with screws. You can add any other decorative elements at this stage, as well. Once everything is in place, mount the organizer to the wall and place your items inside, cleverly utilizing your space.

Decorate and style your new organizer to match your bathroom decor

No matter where you plan on using the glass jar organizer for storage, you'll want to decorate and style it to match your bathroom counters or shelves. When you upcycle glass jars for a stylish and functional bathroom, you can't skip out on the decorating. Whether you're adding labels, stickers, paints, ribbons, or twine, you can easily create a piece that reflects your personal style. For example, if a stained timber board doesn't match your decor, why not paint it in a color that easily blends with your countertops or the tiles on your backsplash.

The great thing about styling is that anything is possible, especially when it comes to your overall wall space. Not only does the transparent material add elegance and sophistication, but it also builds a functional space, helping you see the items you need to use. While a glass jar has its own beauty, adding a few decorative touches will blend your organizer into your existing bathroom aesthetic. Then, once you've hung your new storage solution on the wall, you could also fill the jars with pretty bath salts and colored cotton balls, for a fun decorative touch. Or, for a clever alternative, you might even like to use a magnetic jar and shelf combo instead of a wall-hanging glass jar organization tool.
