Declutter Your Bathroom Countertops With A Chic Dollar Tree Organization Hack

For crafters, who also happen to shop at the Dollar Tree regularly, cluttered bathroom counters are never a problem. That's because they know that it'll only take a quick visit to their local DT store and just a bit of ingenuity to make chic lidded jars to put on the bathroom counter. In said jars go small items that are bound to scatter in the wrong hands, like Q-tips, cotton balls, bobby pins, and hair barrettes. However, once they're stashed away safely in the jars, the clutter danger ceases.
Like similar Dollar Tree storage hacks, this one just requires you to mash-up two different items from the discount store: A highball glass with etched lines and a Luminessence harvest-themed frosted jar candle with wood lid. You'll need to grab an equal number of highball glasses and frosted candle jars. For example, if you need small containers for cotton swabs, bobby pins, and floss picks, that means you'll need three highball glasses and three candles with the wood lids.
The scents of the candles don't matter for this project, so choose any kind you'd like. The wooden lids, however, do matter, so don't pick up candles sans lids. It's also beneficial to use glass containers for storage. They're typically non-toxic because they don't contain the micro-chemicals that many plastic storage containers do. If you're allergic to such items, or you just want to live in a cleaner environment, this lidded-jar project gives you the option to remove plastics and clutter from your bathroom counters at the same time.
Assembling and upleveling the lidded jars
This project really is just a matter of pulling the lids off of the candles and putting them on the highball glasses instead. If you like simple home design, that's as far as you need to go to remove small-item clutter from your countertop to better organize your bathroom. However, the project lends itself to embellishment because the raw materials for it are so simple.
As is, the wooden lids on the candles have no knob to make it easier to remove them from the jar. You'll remedy this issue once you glue a Crafters Square wood bead from Dollar Tree's crafting section to the top of the lid. Use a glue gun for this. To make the plain lid fancier, spray paint it with Krylon Fusion all-in-one matte paint in a fun color like beach glass. Or, if you'd like your paint to have a little texture, try mixing some baking soda with some acrylic paint and applying it with a paint brush.
Finally, you can take this bathroom storage hack one step further by giving your lidded jars a place to rest. Glue four wooden beads under the base of a Crafters Square wood slat crate (one in each corner), which you can also find at Dollar Tree. The wooden beads become feet for the crate. Put your lidded jars inside the crate, along with items like rolled up wash cloths, toothpaste tubes, and other loose things, to help keep your bathroom clutter-free.
