Turn Dollar Tree's Mini Frames Into Fridge Magnet Masterpieces With A DIY

A refrigerator is a kitchen appliance we use multiple times a day, so shouldn't it have a little pizazz? While some prefer to keep their fridge doors clutter free, others like to cover theirs with artwork and photographs. If you're someone who likes to add a touch of beauty to your fridge, you might fall in love with this easy DIY to add more art to your fridge. In just a few minutes, you can create a set of mini-frame magnets that are the epitome of charm. Best of all, since most of the supplies come from Dollar Tree, it's a great way to decorate your home on a budget.

Dollar Tree sells a variety of miniature frames, such as their Mini Gold Photo Frame, which holds a 2.5 x 3.5-inch picture inside. Their Faux Wood Picture Frame is the same adorable size, along with their Rustic Silver Frame. You can choose whichever one you prefer, and you can always keep an eye out for a different style available at your local Dollar Tree. All that matters is that it's small. You're also going to need magnets, such as these Square Magnetic Buttons. Be sure to grab additional frames and magnets if you'd like to really spice up your boring fridge.

Time to give the mini photo frames an upgrade

For starters, if you'd like to paint your frames a different color, feel free to do so! Remove the glass and give them a fresh new look. If your frames have embellishments on their borders, consider painting them black, then dabbing on some antique gold Rub 'n Buff for a vintage look. Plain ones can be made more chic by gluing on wooden beads prior to painting, or attaching gems afterwards. While your frames are drying, remove the stands from the backings. Then, using a strong adhesive like Gorilla Glue, attach the magnets to the outside of the backings. Consider using two to three each to ensure the frames don't accidentally slide down the fridge.

It's now time to fill your frames with lovely items that'll make you smile. Cut out pieces of thick paper that will fit inside, then glue on some pressed flowers. Use different-colored flowers in each frame so that each one is beautifully unique. Insert the paper into the frames, keeping the glass out, and close them shut. All you have to do now is stick them to the fridge and enjoy how charming they look. If preserved flower petals don't match your vibe, you can replace them with family photographs, vintage-inspired images, or old postcards. These frames also make fantastic gifts for loved ones, especially since you can personalize them to match the recipient's tastes.
