The Stylish IKEA Sofa Jeremiah Brent & Nate Berkus Used To Elevate Their Own Home

Jeremiah Brent and Nate Berkus have become known for their sophisticated blend of classic and modern aesthetics. And while their tastes often lean more elegant and luxurious, the interior design duo also loves incorporating a thoughtful mix of budget-friendly items into their spaces. And recently, they outfitted their 400-year-old Portugal farmhouse — which they purchased in 2022 and have been renovating over the last three years — with a reasonably affordable IKEA couch: the JÄTTEBO2 modular sofa in the dark yellow-green colorway.

Complete with famously soft cushions — which customers often praise for being "very comfortable" — and stylish extra-wide-wale corduroy fabric covers, the JÄTTEBO2 collection is generously priced (the 2.5-seat modular sofa with chaise, for example, is $1,850), making it the perfect example that staying on budget doesn't have to mean sacrificing comfort and style. Brent clearly agrees, as he seemed quite proud to share that their Portugal sofa was purchased from the world-renowned, budget-friendly Swedish brand. In a post on his Instagram page, he shared a string of photos showcasing their in-progress renovation — one of which gave a sneak peek of their living room setup. "Quiet scenes from our in-progress home in Portugal," he wrote in the caption, adding in brackets: "(Yes, the sofa is from IKEA!)" It's not a huge surprise that the HGTV couple chose this particular sofa, since the style is having a major moment right now. In fact, corduroy is the new trending fabric that gives '70s aesthetic in a modern and cozy way — and it's certainly achieving that vibe in Brent and Berkus's Portugal home.

Why the JÄTTEBO2 might be the perfect fit for your space

Also available in gray and beige colorways, the JÄTTEBO2 modular sofa is ideal for small spaces, thanks to its customizable size and the generous storage space underneath each seat. "I bought this couch about a month ago for my studio apartment. It looks amazing!" wrote a happy customer in the reviews: "The storage is great, especially for tiny spaces." And as the sofa comes in numerous different size options, it would look great in a larger space, as well. It's also worth noting that it's a good option for people with pets, as another reviewer noted that "the fabric does not wear out even if the cat sharpens its claws on it."

If you like the look of the JÄTTEBO2 sofa but want something even more affordable, you could achieve a similar style with Wayfair's 180cm 2 Seat Area Corduroy Corner Sofa, which is currently on sale for less than $400. Or, if you're ready to spend a little more, you could opt for Article's Beta Modular Sectional, which ranges between $2849 and $4899 depending on size.

The JÄTTEBO2 sofa certainly isn't the only stylish IKEA item that HGTV stars love using in homes, though. Nate Berkus has also shared his love for the PAX wardrobe, which he's used in his own home to increase storage. And Jasmine Roth — host of HGTV's "Hidden Potential" — has revealed that she's a fan of the HEMNES daybed frame, proving once again that affordable pieces can still feel elevated.
