Keep Your Bathroom Towels From Falling With A Simple DIY

Bathroom towels, like hanging kitchen towels, have one job and one job only (aesthetics aside), to be the convenient cloth you reach for after washing your hands, kind of like your own personal hand-drying butler. But between slippery towel bars and tiny kid hands always yanking them down, they're more often found balled up on the floor than hanging where they belong. Luckily, we've uncovered a simple snap hack that'll keep your bathroom towels from falling, for good this time. In just a few easy steps, you'll have towels that look neat and actually stay put.
For this towel hack, you'll need two sets of snaps (or more, depending on how many towels you want to secure). If you want to keep it simple, Michaels and other craft stores sell snap kits for under $10. They come with everything you need: The male and female parts of the snaps, plus the snap fastener tool that secures them in place.
Now, if you want to have some fun with this, you can find snaps in different finishes like gold or rose gold, or go for KAM colored snaps (which are sold in kits with tools and multiple shade options), to add a fun pop of color. What's nice about this hack is that snaps don't snag, scratch, or get damaged in the wash, so this is a once-and-done hack. Once they're on your towels, you won't have to redo them like you would with another genius trick to keep your hanging hand towels from falling.
How to install snaps on bathroom towels to keep them in place
You'll want to install your snaps somewhere around the middle of the towel. Lay the towel flat, and fold it like a burrito, one side toward the center, then the other side over that. The flap of the towel you're left with is where you'll install your snaps. Place them near the middle but not too close together, as you'll need enough space to drape the towel over the bar and also be able to fasten the snaps together. It might help to first mark where the snaps should go with a pencil. Placing the snaps in these areas allows the towel to stay neatly in place while letting the bottom hang loose and look natural.
To install the KAM snaps, poke a small hole in each area using an awl. Place the towel between the cap and stud, then press it together with the snap pliers. Do the same on the other side, using the other cap and socket, and secure with pliers. You should now be able to fold the towel over the bar and snap it shut. If you're using traditional metal snaps with teeth (or prongs), push the teeth side through the towel and position the socket on the other side. Use the snap pliers to set it in place. Repeat a few inches away for the other half of the snap, attaching the second cap and socket. You'll end up with male and female snaps that click together. And that's all there is to this beautiful way to hang your bathroom hand towels that'll leave your kids mesmerized.
