Transform Dollar Tree Items Into A Stunning Christmas Centerpiece With An Easy DIY

Are you looking for a creative centerpiece for your holiday table that doesn't require a lot of money or time? You can take a few basic Dollar Tree items and transform them into a stunning Christmas DIY centerpiece on a budget. It only takes a few minutes to create, and yet you'll love the result.

Other than some pine sprigs, which you can harvest from your own yard, everything you'll need for this Christmas project comes from Dollar Tree — and it all totals under $20. The centerpiece uses one of the Floral Garden Clear Glass Cylinder Vases, a package of the store's Christmas House Plastic Ornaments, and a Luminessence White Tealight Candle. Some of these items come in multi-packs, so you can save the leftover materials to use for other DIY projects, such as the viral Dollar Tree Christmas tree decor people are rushing to create.

You'll use all of these affordable materials to create a centerpiece with floating accents. Start by taking each of the small ornaments and filling them with water before replacing their tops. Adding the water to each bauble will give them some heft so they don't immediately bob to the top. You want them to settle a bit at the bottom so you can stack them on top of each other. Once your ornaments are filled, layer them in with sprigs of pine inside of the vase. Then you'll just have to top it off with water before finally floating a lit tealight.

Putting a special touch on your new Christmas floating candle centerpiece

Filling the empty ornaments with water works great for this centerpiece project, but you could also swap in other materials to add weight. Crafting sand, such as Hygloss Colored Sand for Crafts, could make for a good alternative. If you have a surplus of beads from other random projects, you could fill each ornament with an assortment of them. Don't feel stuck with just ornaments and pine sprigs, however, as you can use other elements from Dollar Tree for a custom look. Try adding a few of the gold and silver Crafters Square Bells, mixing them in with red ornaments for a dazzling look.

If you'd like a more traditional style, you could even mix in some Christmas House Iridescent Faux Snow Decoration, letting it catch the light for a bit of twinkle. You could even put the snow into the Christmas House DIY Clear Ornament instead of the solid color options. Regardless of whatever you add, you may need to change the water every few days just to have a beautiful dining table centerpiece that will look good throughout the week. If you're displaying long-term, doing that can help prevent bacteria from forming. If you're only using it for a holiday get-together, then it should be fine to let the centerpiece sit for a little while.
