Organize Your Closet With A Budget-Friendly Space-Saving Find

Whether you have a small closet or a lot of clothing, it can feel like there is never enough space. You cram all your clothes into the closet, leaving no room to move anything, let alone find what you're looking to wear each day. Fortunately, you don't have to invest in a closet-organizing system or replace all your hangers with special cascading ones, because there are affordable attachments that will help you organize your closet better and leave space for even more clothing if needed. Stackable connector hooks are available that convert any hanger into a stackable one, and they come in multiple colors.

What we love about this idea is that, even though you'll still need to reorganize your closet, you don't have to pull out every item to make this change or buy all new hangers, which can get pretty pricy depending on the type of hangers you like. You may have different hanger types for every item of clothing in your closet, and these hooks will work with your plastic, wooden, wire, and velvet-covered hangers. Plus, you'll feel like you're decluttering your closet like a pro without actually getting rid of anything.

How stackable connector hooks work

For under $10, you can get 20 to 30 pieces of the Spencer clothes hanger connector hooks from Walmart in pink, blue, or white. For $13, you can get 100 pieces of the Besslly space saving hanger hooks from Amazon in black or white. Or, for only $6, you can get 100 Pecula hanger connector hooks in a five-color pack, including two shades of green, blue, white, and pink. Once you have your preferred hook colors in hand, they're really easy to use.

Insert the hook of your hanger through the hole in the connector. Once that is secure, you can hang another hanger from the connector's hook. How many hangers you can cascade depends on the sturdiness of your original hanger (wood hangers are likely to hold more weight than wire or plastic hangers) and how far your closet bar is from the floor — you don't want your clothing touching the floor.

Not only can you vertically organize shirts and pants of the same style or color, but you can also use hanger connectors to keep matching outfits together in the closet. Plus, as the seasons change and you need to tuck away summer or winter clothes, stacking them with connectors will reduce the footprint of any clothing you won't be wearing for the next few months. Similarly arrange clothes you wear less often, like themed or event attire. These are just some of the brilliant ways to use hangers to organize and double your closet storage space.
