Ride Into Spring In Style With A Carriage Décor DIY Made With Dollar Tree Items

Spring is right around the corner, and you know what that means: you can expect to see flowers, botanical motifs, and pastel décor galore! While we all gear up for warmer weather, sunshine, and outdoor activities, there's truly no better way to welcome the coming of a new season than with a fun, affordable garden-inspired centerpiece that celebrates spring. Such is the case with this floral wheeled carriage tabletop décor made from assorted Dollar Tree kitchen items, craft supplies, and battery-powered lights. You glue all the items together to create something that resembles Cinderella's pumpkin coach.

From Dollar Tree, you'll need four Cooking Concept Paper Towel Holders, a bunch of artificial flowers in assorted styles, Crafters Square Tube Confetti, and a single small plastic bowl. You'll also need two Light Pink Wavy Plastic Bowls, two Caterer's Corner Crystal Cut Plastic Punch Bowls, a Green Foam Pot Insert, and a Crafters Square MDF Wood Plank Board. You can use any color of tube confetti for this DIY, but in keeping with the spring theme, consider pink, bright blue, or light green. Pick up a self-adhesive battery-powered puck light with a remote and some string lights. Finally, you'll need a few common crafting supplies if you don't already have them at home: Elmer's glue, spray paint in a spring-appropriate color, zip ties, a hot glue gun with sticks, and two paper plates.

How to DIY your very own spring carriage décor

Now, you're ready to make this décor idea to decorate with for spring. Pour the tube confetti onto one paper plate and some glue onto the other. One at a time, press the base of the paper towel holder into the glue and then into the confetti. Set the holders aside. Take one of the plastic bowls and spray paint the inside. Attach it to the inside of the dessert bowl with hot glue, then pop the piece of floral foam inside. Insert individual artificial flower stems into the foam, arranging them into a bouquet.

Fasten the two paper towel holders together along their posts with zip ties to create carriage wheels. Repeat with the other two holders. Take a pink plastic bowl and glue it, right side up, inside one of the crystal bowls. Glue in your puck light, and top the bowl with the second pink bowl, glued rim to rim. Loop your string lights around the ball you've created, then top it with the last crystal bowl, rim down. Glue the wheels to the wooden plank, and attach your light-filled ball (the carriage body). Top everything with the bouquet.

This DIY décor can easily fit different celebrations. For example, go hot pink and red for Valentine's Day with your beau or a Galentine's event with friends. It's perfect for a princess-themed party, too. Don't vibe with pink? Channel the spring color trend that'll make your home feel refreshed — lilac — in the flowers, bowls, and tube confetti. Since the blooms sit on top of the piece, there's no reason you couldn't use real spring flowers fresh from your garden. Or go snow white and ice blue for a Christmas carriage paired with winter-appropriate foliage.
