With the interior design trends of 2026 moving towards natural, lived-in styles, it makes sense that our furniture pieces follow suit. Comfort is just as important as appearance now, and natural fibers and textiles allow you to turn your home into a cozy oasis. According to Crin, sofas made of these organic materials offer a snug and natural experience, and the shapes bring a softness to a room.

In her exclusive interview with House Digest, Crin advised leaning into the natural vibe of the sofas when it comes to styling. "A knit organic throw would be the best choice," she said — keeping it simple and neutral curates a soft and relaxing space. As these sofas are inspired by the natural world, bringing some of the outside inside can also be a great idea. Add large houseplants that dramatically fill empty spaces next to your sofa to play with texture and height. Crin suggested decorating with a pressed flower gallery wall to really enhance that living home feel. 

Crin also touched on how lighting can impact the style of your sofa, suggesting that these comfortable pieces look great in an area flooded by light. Playing around with shades, shadows, and spotlights can help you figure out how you can make your living room feel extra cozy and inviting. When picking the lighting for your room, consider going for warm light bulbs and adding in lamps and other secondary light sources.

With so many sofas out there, it can be difficult to know how to pick the right one for your space. Crin exclusively told House Digest that it is helpful if you are able to visit a store to test them out before buying. She said that many homeowners fall into the trap of buying trending sofas online, but not realizing that many of the images they are seeing are actually AI generated. By going into a store, you are able to examine the quality of the materials and how sturdy the frame is. You can also sit, lie, and lounge on the pieces to feel their texture and softness. 

If you do have to buy online, Crin explained that you should pay attention to the product description to ensure that what you are getting is the real deal. Check the size, materials, and build of the sofa. When it comes to size, Crin swears by the "measure twice, buy once" rule. She says that it is essential to measure everything multiple times, from the space your sofa will be sitting in to hallways where it will be traveling through. Doing so will mean no headaches when you bring your new furniture home.
