Reuse Candle Jars To Keep Your Office Space Organized
There are many fun ideas for upcycling and reusing your candle jars, like the DIY that transforms your candle holder into a gorgeous planter. But did you know that you can also reuse candle jars to keep your office space organized? Whether you have that one special candle from your favorite vacation or a collection of 27 different candle jars stashed away because you can't bear to get rid of the almost-empties, they will come in handy if your office space could use some organization. Reusing them not only helps keep them out of the landfill (you're welcome, environment) but also brings some character and uniqueness to your workspace as pencil holders, drawer organizers, and even cord storage.
Before we start organizing the room, you'll want to clean out the candle jars. To get that last bit of wax out of the holder, you can simply place it in the freezer for a few hours or overnight. Then slide it right out with a knife and wash the jar with soap and water. Alternatively, you can use boiling water to remove the remaining candle wax, filling your jar just short of the top. The wax rises as it melts, then rehardens at the top as the water cools. Then you can easily remove it and wash the candle jar with soap and water. Now that your candle jars are all cleaned up, let's walk through a few ways to use them to organize your office space.
How to organize your office space with repurposed candle jars
Creativity and imagination are going to drive our plans to use leftover candle jars as one of the items you can use to organize your desk and office. Beginning with the most obvious — the actual desktop area, you can use a candle holder or two for things that you frequently use. When you're deep in a project, what items do you want close by so you don't have to break focus to find them? If it's items like pens and pencils, a medium-sized jar will work well. Use smaller jars if you need to have things like paper clips or push pins accessible. You can also use shorter jars inside your desk drawers if you prefer to keep things off the desktop but still close at hand.
For some fun, you can use a medium or larger jar as a candy dish, because who doesn't love a little treat while they're working hard? In other spaces around your office, like shelves or cabinets, you can use bigger jars to store things like charging cords and blocks. Wrap cords into a circle and use velcro zip ties to keep them together, then place them into a clear jar so you can spot them easily when needed. Make the most of your office space by using jars to store less frequently used items, like a backup supply of markers or pens. If the jars are not clear, you can use labels to make it easier to find what you're looking for when you need it.
