Turn Dollar Tree Glass Into An Elegant Candleholder That Looks Like It Came From Pottery Barn

There's nothing quite as lovely as candlelight. Whether it's around a family meal, in the morning while you drink your coffee, or at a gathering with friends, there is something about the flickering flame that invites you to slow down and be present. One way to amplify your candlelit event is by housing it in an appropriate candleholder, but if you're not wild about shelling out tons of money, there's good news: You can make an affordable dupe of the Pottery Barn Cordelia Glass Lamp Candle Holder, which normally costs $69-79, by gluing a votive holder onto a candlestick. By doing this, you'll turn a few Dollar Tree finds into a chic Pottery Barn dupe of their elegant candleholder.

Inspiration for this hack comes courtesy of DIYCozyHome on TikTok. To get started, you'll first need to head to your neighborhood Dollar Tree to purchase an Iridescent Glass Candleholder, a clear glass storage bowl with a plastic lid, a Long Stem Glass Tealight Candle Holder, and a Luminessence Brighter LED Tealight Candle. You'll also need a strong, fast-drying adhesive like a hot glue gun.

Ways to make this DIY candleholder fit your style

To DIY a Pottery Barn decor dupe using affordable Dollar Tree supplies, begin by removing all price stickers, as well as discarding the top of the clear glass storage bowl. Taking the long stem candle holder, apply a thin bead of glue around the rim of it, then align the bottom of the iridescent candleholder with the ring of glue and securely press the two together. Once it's dry, you'll simply drop an LED tealight candle into the candle holder, then flip the clear glass bowl over, and rest it on top as a lamp shade.

I had one of those save it, stare at it, close the tab moments with a Pottery Barn candle holder... so I walked into Dollar Tree instead! 🙌 A glass taper holder, a glass votive holder, a glass bowl flipped upside down, and a faux candle later, and suddenly my kitchen counter has that warm, glowy, designer look I love. This is one of those easy DIYs that proves cozy doesn't have to be complicated or expensive!! #dollartreediy #budgetdecor #cozyhome

While this DIY is cute as is, there are certainly a number of ways to spruce it up for your personal style. First, you can opt for colorful LED candles, like this MerryNights 24-pack, that match your event. It is the perfect way to lean into an Easter party or fun birthday party theme. You can also get creative with some frosted spray paint, which will provide a softer, less crisp-looking glass candleholder. You can grab a can of Rust-Oleum Frosted Glass Spray Paint at Walmart for $6.96, but just remember to do the painting outside where you have sufficient ventilation.

How to use this DIY around your home

If you love this DIY idea but aren't exactly sure where you'd place the finished candleholders, there are truly countless options. A few beautiful ways to decorate your home with candles include positioning them on your dinner table as a centerpiece, or running them down the length of a cloth table runner if you have a rectangular table. If your kitchen has an island, placing a few candle holders in the center of it will provide a polished appearance, perfect for those days you're entertaining guests. To bring some warmth to your home's entryway, you can plant a grouping of several on a foyer table alongside some greenery (this will be especially lovely if you make a few candleholders of varying heights).

Candles can enhance the more private spaces of your home, too. Put some on the side of your bathtub for a spa-like feel the next time you take a soak, or position a few throughout your bedroom to bring a soft, flickering illumination to the end of your day. Though these candleholders only cost a few dollars to make, they can bring some undeniable charm and beauty to your home.
