Create A Beautiful Spring Table Setting For Hosting On A Dollar Tree Budget

In the springtime, the most elegantly-styled tables boast decorative elements that reflect the season's beauty and wildness — the dish collection patterned with hydrangeas, a single vintage porcelain plate from the thrift store, and all of those mismatch napkin rings. Every time you host a party, you probably wonder at least once what made you save all of those heterogeneous items. Yet, like the wild flowers in your garden, your creative touches make all of those pieces seem like they belong together. To pull that off, you'll infuse your party table with some unifying elements. Those you'll find at Dollar Tree. And the prices won't bust your budget.

Your fun tablescape inspiration starts with spring-themed dishes. Dollar Tree's Blue Hydrangea-Printed White Stoneware Plates are a good choice. So, too, are the Royal Norfolk Spring Bee Ceramic Plates or the Lemon-Printed White Stoneware Plates. You'll combine those items with dishes you've found at the thrift store: Those plates should be big enough to fill in the size between the dinner and salad plates. If you only have one from a set, this is where you can use them.

A clear charger plate gives your dishware a foundation to rest on. Dollar Tree has versions that boast either a silver or gold ring around the rim. Choose the ring color that works best with your table arrangement. Finally, you'll need a dry-erase marker, some cloth napkins, and any other items that'll complete your spring party table's look.

Layering the plates on your spring table

Letting people know where they're sitting is good party etiquette. To help direct guests to their assigned seats, hosts put name cards on the stacks of dishes around the table. However, writing the attendees' names on the rim of the Dollar Tree charger plate with a dry-erase marker adds your individual stamp to this element of party-planning. Make sure their names appear close to the edge. Your guests should see the writing on the rim due to the differences in the dish sizes.

Next, place a Dollar Tree dinner plate on the charger plate. On top of that, lay down a thrifted plate. You could choose one that features a different color than the dominant hue on the Dollar Tree plate. Or introduce a dish with complementary color to your table settings. There's an argument for going with the latter idea. The addition of the complementary color makes the individual items in each stack look curated. The eye is encouraged to linger on each stack of plates around the table because of it.

The Dollar Tree dish set comes with salad plates. Add one of those to your layer next. Finally, round out the stack with a napkin bound together with some adorable spring napkin rings. Dollar Tree doesn't sell these. However, you can find some, like the WATMTIN Gold Napkin Rings Set, online at DT-like prices.
