Turn Dollar Tree Pallets & Cardboard Scraps Into A Chic Planter
Does it ever amaze you how you can turn just the simplest items from Dollar Tree into stunning or cute decor for your home? If you take a look online, there's always a plethora of unique DIYs suited to people with all levels of skill, expertise, and available time. Take, for example, those cute little Crafter's Square wood pallets. They're only tiny, measuring 6.125 inches by 4 inches, but they have so many different uses. Not only do they make the cutest coasters for your coffee table, but you could also use them to make a chic two-shelf organizer for your home office. Alternatively, you could follow TikToker juju.cares' lead and turn them into an upscale planter with the addition of a small scrap of cardboard and a bit of faux greenery.
This is a lovely, quick project that requires four of those cute little pallets, a block of green floral foam, a scrap piece of cardboard, your hot glue gun, and some faux flowers or greenery. Your floral pick choices are virtually limitless, but the Floral Garden mixed greenery bushes give off a more "chic" vibe. Or, you could select your favorite blooms in a color that complements your indoor decor. Depending on your choices, this DIY planter should cost you less than $12, but it will make a nice centerpiece for your dining table or add a pretty accent when placed on your bedside chest.
Putting together your lovely chic planter
For this project, the four pallets become the sides of the planter, so you'll want to grab your hot glue gun and join them together to make the frame. Next, grab some cardboard and draw the outline for the base. Cut the square slightly smaller, so it slips into the bottom and sits on the cross supports on the inside of the pallets, and glue it in place. Take a piece of the foam block and put it inside your planter. All that's left is to add your flowers or your foliage picks, and you're done.

While you can leave this new decor piece you've just created as is, there are also plenty of ways you can customize it. For example, you can paint or stain the pallets before assembling the planter in a color of your choice, rather than leaving them plain. You could also use other methods to decorate your planter, like with ribbon, twine, or glued-on embellishments. Or, add wood beads or another type of trim along the top edge. You could even put a small strand of fairy lights under the planter to give it a warm glow.
If you really love having fresh flowers in the house, find a glass receptacle that will fit neatly inside the planter and fill it with water before adding the foam block. This should keep your blooms hydrated for a few days. For a slightly different aesthetic, you could find a succulent in a small pot that will fit neatly inside your new planter. With all of these options, you might want to make more than one. If you're looking for something just a little more adventurous, why not DIY a gorgeous garden wall using Dollar Tree flower pots and wood pallets?
