We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.
You'll find all kinds of kitchen essentials at Costco. They range from pots, pans, and crockery to clever storage solutions that can help you to curb your kitchen's clutter problem. Of course, some are more likely to be worth it than others, and the only real way to know that before you buy is to read the reviews, which takes time. Luckily, we've done the digging for you, identifying a selection of Costco items that are both designed to reduce clutter and are highly-rated by Costco shoppers.
You may have a miscellaneous selection of stuff currently littering your cabinets' shelves, in which case you'll find a few simple baskets below that can help relieve the burden. Alternatively, you may be struggling to access the items at the backs of your deepest cabinets, in which case there's a solution for that, too. There are sets to help organize large pantry cabinets, along with Costco finds that are absolutely perfect for small kitchens. As we'll explain in more detail later, all items are rated at least 4.2 stars overall, and all have been reviewed by at least 20 real Costco shoppers.
iDesign's Stacking Open Front Pantry Bins, 8 pieces
If you have one, you'll know that organizing a pantry cupboard is easier said than done. One way to overcome clutter there is to pick, and stick to, a grouping system that ensures some semblance of order among your shelves. Another is to pick the right type of baskets. iDesign's Stacking Open Front Pantry Bins come in a set of eight, and are made from clear plastic, to help you see what's inside each one, along with how much you have left in stock. You can stack them to make the most of your vertical space, or spread them out individually. As for what to declutter with them, you could use them to store your loose produce, dry ingredients, or even your kids' favorite snacks.
They currently set buyers back $59.99, and they're rated 4.2 stars overall, with feedback from 568 Costco buyers to-date. Out of those, 68% gave the bins 5 stars. Users appreciate the bins' versatility, with one buyer explaining how they help to "Economize your kitchen space." Some reviewers concede that while they are handy, they are also somewhat pricey. Nevertheless, said one buyer, they're "Just what I needed. Made my pantry much easier to use, I can see exactly what I have, buying another set!"
Seville Classics' 9-piece Acacia Organizer Starter Set
For those who prefer a rustic look, wicker or wooden baskets can also help to restore order to kitchen cabinets. Seville Classics' 9-piece Acacia Organizer Starter Set represents real value versus the previous, plastic set. It's priced slightly cheaper at $58.99, includes one more basket, and those baskets are all made from acacia wood. Each offers a rustic look, and the baskets come in various sizes to help you store a variety of items. You could use them to organize recipe books, herbs and spices, bottled ingredients, and more. You could use some to organize your cutlery drawer, and one could even serve as a salt and pepper caddy for the table.
As far as reviews go, the set is rated 4.3 stars overall, thanks to 30 reviews to-date. Of those, 73% gave it the full 5 stars, including several that said it's great for organizing the kitchen. As one user wrote, "I have a fully organized kitchen now. I absolutely cannot recommend this product more." Just note that a few people said that some of the boxes are very small, so you'll want to bear that in mind if you only have large items of clutter to deal with.
Trinity's Wire Basket with Slide, 2-pack
Slide-out drawers can make both organization and access easier with deep kitchen cabinets. Now, if you love a good project and have the requisite home DIY tools, then it's possible to create your own base cabinet slide-out shelves. But, if not, there are several ready-made options available at Costco. Trinity's Wire Basket with Slide, 2-pack is one example. It comprises a twin set of slide-out drawers, and comes with the hardware required to install it inside your cabinets. It fits cabinets 15 inches or wider, or if you've invested in one of Costco's space-saving shelving sets, it can also be attached to wire shelving that's at least 18 inches deep. Either way, it provides you with a set of baskets to organize clutter-prone items, and if you install them in your cabinets, you can slide them out, making everything easier to access.
They're rated an impressive 4.7 stars overall, with 78% of more than 80 reviews to-date awarding them top marks. Reading through the reviews, it appears that the main drawback to this particular set is that the instructions can be rather tricky to follow. Even still, said one user, it's an "Excellent quality product." In the words of another buyer, "Perfection! Very heavy and extremely well constructed. In the process of updating my kitchen cabinets and saw these on Costco.com. I put two of them in a lower cabinet and put my set of Ninja pots and pans in them."
Edifice's Mesh Basket with Handle, 2-pack
Baskets are one of the all-time most popular ways to de-clutter. And if your cabinets are filled to bursting with small items that tend to spill out whenever you open the doors, then they offer a simple, yet effective, way to deal with the problem. This 2-pack of Mesh Baskets with Handles from Edifice is made from steel, with attractive wooden handles for portability. They offer a minimalist aesthetic, although that may not matter much if they're tucked away inside your cabinets. From an organization perspective, they could be used to tidy up a variety of items. You could use them for herbs and spices, for example. Or you could create a "mess basket" to de-clutter small items like baking tools and ingredient sachets.
However you plan to use them, they come with the reassurance of a solid, 5-star rating. More than 40 purchasers to-date have offered their thoughts and feelings, and out of those, 98% gave them 5 stars. One user, who described them as "Helpful," explained, "I am using these baskets in different rooms of my apartment to organize things by category. Baking things go into one, air fryer tools go into one, etc. They are a great help! Large enough to actually be useful, strong and well made."
Eurow's Automotive Trunk Organizer
The first thing to say is that, we know, Eurow's Automotive Trunk Organizer doesn't sound like the sort of thing that you'd use to de-clutter your kitchen cabinets. However, while it is, indeed, meant for a car, we feel it could be a handy way to organize things inside your deeper cabinets. It would be especially useful for keeping your cleaning supplies together, allowing you to pull them out in one go and select what you need, instead of fighting topple-prone bottles and errant spare sponges. Per the spec, it's made with durable, water-resistant material, and can withstand heavy loads. It also has removable dividers to help sort whatever you're storing, plus a lid. As for size, it's 23.6 inches long, 14 inches wide, and 12 inches deep.
The organizer currently costs $29.99, and comes with a respectable rating of 4.9 stars overall. That's thanks to more than 145 user reviews, 93% of which have awarded it full marks. Of course, those reviews largely comment on its ability to organize their in-car storage. However, one user explained how they've used it to keep snacks, office supplies, and cleaning equipment organized in one unit, so it's easy to see how it could help to alleviate clutter in larger cabinets. In their own words, "This is an EXCEPTIONAL product!"
Seville Classics' Water Hyacinth Storage Basket, 4-pack
Wicker baskets are an often-overlooked kitchen storage solution, yet they can be surprisingly handy for both shelves and inside your cabinets. Seville Classics' Water Hyacinth Storage Baskets come in sets of four. Each is sized 13.25 inches wide and 13 inches deep (and 8 inches high), making them suitable for slotting inside your cabinets. You could use them to keep awkward collections of items together, like baking equipment. Carry handles make them easy to pull them out and move to your workstation. And in case you're storing them in an open-fronted cabinet, they also look lovely.
Price wise, you can expect to pay $41.99 for the set. Each is backed by a 4.5 star rating, with 77% of more than 70 users to-date having awarded the baskets 5 stars. "Great set of baskets," said one buyer, who bought them for their pantry. "I was very happy with the price for a set of four. It's also nice that they can fold up when not in use and take up less space." Another user, who said they're ideal for organizing just about anything, said, "LOVE These! I used them in my kitchen pantry to start organizing and wow what a difference. Very sturdy and make your cupboard look amazing."
Trinity's EcoStorage Bamboo Top Kitchen Cart
In larger kitchens, an island can contribute to less clutter by providing more storage and counter space to work with. In smaller spaces, however, a larger island is often impractical. One of the best alternatives to a traditional kitchen island in smaller rooms is a kitchen cart. As an example, Trinity's EcoStorage Bamboo Top Kitchen Cart can be wheeled into place when you need the extra worktop space. And when you don't, you can wheel it back to a quiet, out-of-the-way corner. It's sort of like a cutting board on wheels, thus eliminating the need to store a separate cutting board in your cabinets. It also has two shelves, which you can use to keep more cumbersome items, like serveware or baking gear, from clogging up your cupboards.
It costs $99.99, which is certainly less than you'd pay for a kitchen island installation. And it comes with the reassurance of a 4.8-star rating, with 88% of more than 970 reviews having awarded it top marks. "Easy to use cart for my KitchenAid mixer!" said one buyer, who uses it as portable baking storage and as a workstation. Another user, who described the cart as perfect, explained, "For my taste, the height is spot on, flushed with the height of my stove, and a nice added prep area for my kitchen, not to mention I can put all of my heavy kitchen appliances underneath thanks to the heavy-duty shelves."
Costco's Clear Stackable Shoebox & Organizer
Another product from Costco that's not necessarily designed for the kitchen, the Clear Stackable Shoebox & Organizer set could nevertheless come in handy in your kitchen cupboards. It's meant for shoes, although the images used on the listing suggest that it could just as easily be employed for decluttering other parts of the home. In a kitchen cabinet, you could use it to keep dishes, ingredients, or indeed a world of other items contained. Since they're lidded, you could either stack them, or you could use each one as a sort of riser, providing storage both inside the box, as well as on top. They also have handy side-doors, meaning if something's stacked on top, you can still access what's stored inside.
Either way, you get four in each set, and for $39.99, it feels like pretty good value — regardless of the room you're decluttering. The boxes are also favorably rated, earning 4.2 stars, thanks to more than 25 reviews. 70% of those gave the set 5 stars, with most saying that they're an ideal solution for household organization. One user, who said they love the boxes and used them to organize their closet, wrote, "The doors open on several sides which is genius. I am going to order a few more to organize the pantry also."
Trinity's EcoStorage 2-tier Wire Drawer with Slides, 2-pack
In smaller kitchens, cabinets dominated by herbs, spices, and other ingredients can get cluttered both quickly and easily. They can also be tricky to access, especially the items at the back. If you're not careful, you can end up spilling the front-most items onto the floor in your effort to retrieve those which have been lost to the void. To get around this, slide-out drawers can make life much easier. For that reason, we chose to feature Trinity's EcoStorage 2-tier Wire Drawer with Slides. The set includes two units, each with two baskets that are deep enough to hold your ingredients while preventing them from spilling out of the cabinet. They can be mounted on wire shelves, or if you have cabinets 13 inches or wider, you can install them inside. Either way, they come with the hardware required to install them. Not only that, but each unit can withstand up to 50 pounds of weight, which ought to be enough to accommodate your cabinet clutter.
The set costs $79.99, which buys the units and the aforementioned hardware. As for reviews, more than 135 users have taken the time to offer feedback, and of those, 55% have given the set 5 stars (it has a 4.2-star rating overall). Now, they are let down somewhat in the reviews by the assembly requirements, which it appears are both tricky and, according to some, poorly explained by the instructions. With that being said, once installed, most customers agree that they're a handy means of organizing their cabinet storage. "We liked the shelves so well, we ordered more," said one buyer. "They fit some cabinets that were not deep enough for the larger pullout shelves."
Clearly's Open Front Closet Storage Bin
Again, this particular product is not made for cabinet storage, per se. However, when we looked at the reviews, we noticed that one user had made an exception and was delighted with the results. Before we get to that, let's explore what it is. Clearly's Open Front Closet Storage Bin set includes two open-fronted storage bins. Each is made from clear, PE plastic, which is food-safe, and they can be stacked vertically or used separately — whichever works best to deal with your kitchen clutter conundrum. Those open fronts make it easier to access whatever's stored inside, especially if they're stacked on top of each other. And provided that you have space in your cupboards, their 16-inch by 10-inch dimensions (and 6-inch depth) mean that you can fit larger items comfortably inside.
They're priced at $21.99 for a set of two, or you can pick up four for $34.99. Back to those reviews, and they're rated a solid 4.8 stars, with 89% of more than 40 people having awarded them full marks. Reviewers like that they're heavy duty and stack easily, and there are those who, having tried them out, are now doubling down and buying more. Back to that user who put them to work in the kitchen, they explained, "I needed under counter storage for my kitchen and I thought these might be exactly what I needed. They were!" They said that they may later repurpose them for closet storage, but explained that, for now, the bins are more than pulling their weight in their kitchen cabinets. "Two are stacked and very sturdy that way, and two are on their own. Now all my cleaning supplies and recycling are organized in bins that I can also easily clean."
Cuisinart's 4-in-1 XL 4.6 Gallon Expandable Prep and Serve Tub
We've featured storage solutions that are not, technically speaking, designed for the kitchen. But in the case of Cuisinart's 4-in-1 XL 4.6 Gallon Expandable Prep and Serve Tub, it's not a storage solution at all. With that being said, it's still worth considering in small kitchens where cabinets fill up quickly. Bulky serving trays can take up lots of space, and rarely do they play nice in the cabinet with other items. But in this case, the serving tub is expandable, which means that it is also collapsible. It takes up much less space in the cabinet than standard trays, collapsing to 1.9 inches high. It's also pretty handy as a serving tray, expanding to different depths to suit different meals. It's supplied with a lid, so can be used for marinating meat overnight, and that lid can also be used as a chopping board, thus further reducing your amount of cabinet clutter.
As for price, it currently costs $17.99. It's rated 4.2 stars overall, with 67% of more than 35 users awarding it 5 stars. Now, it should be said that some have found it to be flimsy. But that's not the consensus; far from it. Not only that, as one said, it comes at "a fraction of the cost of other collapsible containers." Another purchaser — who bought it for use by a team of BBQ cooks — said that they're extremely happy with the product and its versatility for both marinating and cutting meat. And as for keeping your cabinet clutter down, one user said quite simply that it's "easy to store and very sturdy."
