Use Paper Towel Holders To Transform A Dollar Tree Pizza Pan Into A Functional Plant Stand

Often, all it takes to turn simple items from Dollar Tree into unique decor is a little imagination. For example, there are plenty of creative ways to repurpose inexpensive Dollar Tree pizza pans around the house. You simply need to look at the cookware in a different way. Instead of thinking about what flavor of pizza you'll make with it, you can consider what it might look like with a lick of paint and some embellishments. Transforming a simple pizza pan into a DIY decor masterpiece really isn't that hard, as YouTuber diydesignsbybonnie demonstrates in a tutorial video. By gluing paper towel holders to a pizza pan and spray painting their creation, they create a cute, highly functional plant stand.

This plant stand is ideal for small, lightweight planters and houseplants. It could, for example, be the perfect spot for your mini succulent collection. It stands a little over 6 inches tall, so it functions more like a tabletop stand for a desk, kitchen countertop, or entryway console.

To make this project yourself, head to Dollar Tree and pick up a Cooking Concepts 12-Inch Pizza Pan for $1.25 and three Cooking Concepts Paper Towel Holders, also $1.25 each. Choose some spray paint in your preferred color — diydesignsbybonnie uses metallic gold — and pick up a tube of E6000 Plus Multipurpose Clear Glue. (Did you know you  should always keep E6000 glue in your home? It has a ton of surprising uses.) A roll of masking tape will come in handy to keep things in place during assembly, as will your hot glue gun.

To assemble your plant stand, place the pizza pan on your work surface, face up. Carefully bend  the spindle of the paper towel holders to one side of center — aim for about a 45-degree angle. Once they're attached to the pizza pan, they'll resemble the hairpin legs commonly used in mid-century modern furniture. Glue the round bases of the paper towel holders to the pizza pan, right at the rim, using E6000 glue and hot glue. Make sure the bent spindles point outwards. Keep the paper towel holders in place with masking tape; you can remove the tape once the glue has cured. Then all that's left to do is to spray paint your completed plant stand.

If you prefer, you can paint the parts of this plant stand before assembly, as long as you wait for the paint to dry before putting everything together. This gives you a chance to paint the pizza pan one color and the paper towel holders another. Or, since pearl palettes are trending in home design right now, you could use Rust-Oleum Glitter Pearl White Spray Paint.
