If you have a few trees in your yard, you may find that they drop nuts, especially if they're of the oak, walnut, or fruit varieties. This type of yard debris can be extremely cumbersome, annoying, and time-consuming to pick up, but you will have to do it before you can mow the grass. If you don't, the nuts could easily damage the blade on your mower or, worse, they could be flung around and inflict injuries to you or anyone else who's in the yard at the same time. Not picking them up is also a fall yard cleanup mistake that could attract rats into your home. But don't worry. If you're sick of bending over and picking up all those nuts, there's an easy-to-use tool that can come to the rescue: Holt's Nut Wizard.

This interesting-looking invention is surprisingly adept at gathering all those nuts off the ground, meaning you can then deposit them into a bucket using the emptying attachment. Made in the USA, the nut wizard has a cage made from galvanized wire that, when rolled along the ground, will pick up nuts, seeds, and fruits up to 4 inches in diameter and as small as 1 inch in diameter. To use it correctly, you just push it forward and backward along the patch of ground that has all the debris. You then place the attachment over the rim of a 5-gallon bucket and push the cage down over the top of the attachment to empty whatever you've gathered into the container.

More than just a nut picker

Thanks to how well this gadget works, you can use it for all kinds of things, both in your yard and further afield. For example, do you have a dog that likes to chase balls? Whether you toss these to your pooch in the backyard, the park, or at the beach, you can use the nut wizard to retrieve them easily and quickly. It's also perfect for picking up golf balls if your dream is to have a putting green in your backyard or like to practice at your local park when no one else is around. It means that you don't have to constantly bend over to pick up all those wayward golf balls.

You could even use this handy tool indoors to pick up small toys off the floor without having to bend over. And if you like to make your own scented pinecones for the festive season, you could use the nut wizard to collect as many as you need quickly and easily. Finally, if you find that the basket is not rolling as well as it should, just put some multi-purpose grease in the holes that attach it to the handle, and it should move much more smoothly.
