Gorgeous Hawaii Home Golf Star Vijay Singh Just Put On The Market For $23 Million

Legendary golfer, Vijay Singh, began golfing at a relatively young age. He picked up the sport from his father, who was just as dedicated to the sport as Singh. Singh worked hard as he learned and advanced at the game. He spent nearly all his free time playing golf. His professional golf career began in 1982, and it grew quickly from there. Throughout his career, he won a total of 58 tournaments. Nearly half of those tournaments were tours from the Professional Golfers Association. With this credit of winnings, Singh continues to hold the record for most wins after the age of 40 years old, according to Edubilla.com.

Golf Digest mentions that Vijay Singh continued his golf career well into his fifties, even though it hasn't been as successful as his many previous years. In the 2021 Professional Golfers' Association Championship Singh announced his withdrawal due to an unresolved back injury. As Singh is slowly winding down his golf career, he is saying goodbye to more than just golf. On the Hamakua Coast of Hawaii, Singh's vacation home just hit the market for $23 million (per Realtor.com). Let's take a closer look at this dream ocean-front home.

Town of honomu

The 58.98 acres of property is located right along the Hamakua Coast in Honomu, Hawaii. This Hawaiian Life states that the town used to be run by a sugar plantation, so when the plantation closed, the town nearly fell down with it. But thanks to the Akaka Falls, which is a major Hawaiian tourist attraction, the town still received plenty of business from tourists who stop by before and after their visit to the falls.

Honomu is crafted with fun, colorful architecture, making it the perfect location for an easy stroll on a nice day. Matching the colorful architecture, there are also plenty of local artists in the area who are happy to share their crafts with visitors. The town is also complete with plenty of restaurants and cafes for either a meal or just a small treat. Despite the tourists, the town remains a very quiet place to reside, making it the perfect escape from a hectic life.

Classic mediterranean home

Singh's Hawaiian home has a total of 9,019 square feet of living space. This space includes five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, complete with plenty of storage and living space. Upon entering the home from a beautiful stone entrance, one can easily notice the Mediterranean style in the creamy, white walls deeply contrasted by the dark wooded flooring and trimmings. This Mediterranean theme continues as you journey further into the home. Moving into the kitchen and living areas, the flooring changes to a checkered tile adding even more contrast and character to the home, according to Zillow.

Unlike the rest of the home, the master bathroom takes on a different, almost modern look with slick white and grey marble countertops and lightly colored walls and cabinets. There is a small glimpse of contrast, however, in the dark wooded window frame. The home ends in the back, where the beautiful stone terrace and porch, similar to the front of the house, emerge to overlook the outside portion of the gorgeous property.

Bringing the ocean into the home

As mentioned before, Singh's Hawaiian home is located right along the ocean, on the Hamakua Coast, and the home certainly takes advantage of that. In the living room, dining room, and other main living spaces, large windows span across the walls to bring as much of the ocean view into the home. An ocean theme is also used across the home with the use of the color blue on the kitchen backsplash, walls, rugs, and more.

Zillow also shows the beautiful outdoor features of the home, as it encourages residents to take advantage of the beautiful Hawaiian weather. These features include acres of beautiful open space with vibrant green grass. Outdoor sitting areas also accompany these outdoor features on both the terrace and porch. These sitting areas are conveniently located under thick coverings, allowing their continued enjoyment in the ever-changing Hawaiian weather. And, of course, a Hawaiian getaway wouldn't be complete without a pool.
