Inside Daniel Radcliffe's Former NYC Bachelor Pad On Sale For $5.6 Million

A West Village luxury apartment once owned by "Harry Potter" film franchise star Daniel Radcliffe recently hit the real estate market, listed on Trulia for $5.65 million. According to the New York Post, Radcliffe, who recently co-starred in "The Lost City" alongside Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, and Brad Pitt, purchased the home in 2008, shortly after the release of the fifth installment of the "Harry Potter" films.

Radcliffe was barely 18 years old when he bought the New York apartment for a reported $4.9 million. He also purchased another New York apartment just after this one, located in Soho at 40 Mercer Street. However, Radcliffe reportedly never lived in that apartment, and instead rented it out for $20,000 a month.

The current apartment for sale, which Radcliffe did live in during his Broadway stint, is located in the One Morton Square building. This building is full of celebrities, with the New York Post listing other star-studded residents past and present such as Will Arnett, Amy Poehler, Oliver Stone, and Mike Meyers.

A look at One Morton Square

Daniel Radcliffe's former apartment is located in the One Morton Square building, which is one of the most luxurious properties in the West Village. According to the Trulia listing, the building has top-of-the-line service, including full-time concierges, door attendants, and porter staff, as well as an on-site manager.

There are plenty more amenities in the building itself than just the service staff; there is also a high-end fitness center that is over 3,000 square feet on its own. There's also private parking, a bike storage room, and another storage area. Finally, there's also a large playroom for residents' children.

One Morton Square is also located adjacent to Hudson River Park — just a short walk away. Aside from all the on-site amenities, the building also resides in the West Village, which is a gorgeous, historic neighborhood in Manhattan. The Official Guide to New York City notes that it was home to very influential and relevant cultural moments, including the beat literature/Beat Generation movement, experimental theater, the gay liberation movement, and the housing preservation fight.

Inside Daniel Radcliffe's West Village apartment

According to the Trulia listing, Daniel Radcliffe's former apartment is over 2,400 square feet in size, and includes three bedrooms and four bathrooms. The apartment is full of huge floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Hudson. It is designed in a timeless, slightly mid century, but overall contemporary style.

Upon entering the apartment, you're greeted with a long hallway that introduces the gorgeous warm wood floors and tall white walls found throughout every room. The entryway has a unique horseshoe shaped black light fixture, as well as recessed lighting. The hallway leads into the living room, which has slightly curved walls where the huge windows are. There are some modern style round pillars breaking up the monotony, and a huge built in entertainment unit.

An opening in the wall connects to the formal dining room in an open but still cut off floor plan. The listing photos show room for an eight-person dining table as well. The windows are shorter here, but there are deep ledges. There's a unique modern light fixture in the center of the room, and an island on the opposite side of the windows. On the other side of this island are bar stools for a breakfast bar.

More of the modern Manhattan residence

There is a thin wall in the dining room, and behind that wall is a small and cozy reading nook, the Trulia photos showing enough space for a comfortable couch and coffee table. There's a built-in television and bookshelf, as well as a large window.

The kitchen has plenty of storage options and top-of-the-line appliances, but it is built at a rather unique angle. It is a V-shaped galley style kitchen, with glossy white counters and cabinets, high-end stainless steel appliances, and navy blue accent walls.

As mentioned earlier, there are three bedrooms, all with their own ensuite bathroom. The bedrooms are carpeted. There are large windows in all of the bedrooms, but they're shadier and have attached black out curtains, allowing light to filter through when desired, but overall creating a cozy and dark sleeping area. The bathrooms are all very modern. The floor and bottom half of the walls are tiled, with very small tiles in brown shades. The top half of the wall is white tiles. There is a huge walk-in shower with two rainfall shower heads and two benches. Finally, there is a glass partition to separate the toilet from the double vanity sinks.
